perhaps not the correct place for this thread but I don't frequent any other baseball boards...

Has anyone ever seen a pitcher clocked higher than Zumaya was in yesterday's game? 103mph on 3 or 4 pitches! I think I have seen Billy Wagner in his heydey at 100 but never anything like what I saw yesterday.

Nolan Ryan was supposedly clocked at 115 in his prime. :notworthy

Neighborgal from Raleigh area and Ga Tech could throw 100+, but nobody, including himself, knew where it was going. But he did get drafted in, I believe, the 2nd round.

But that was impressive yesterday with Zumaya

The Tigers have an excellent farm system witha bevy of quality players. I think we are seeing just the tip of the iceburg, as far as the Tigers are concerned. They will be a team to recon with for years. Of course, that is depending on how many of the young players they can keep. It won't be long before you will see Cameron Maybin in the OF

I hung out with Andrew Miller about 2 weeks ago and I asked him to compare Bard's best fastball to Zamaya and he said it wasn't even close. He said that he has never seen a fastball like it, and he got a pretty good look at it.

    radar guns juiced?

what are the chances that these gun readings are juiced? i mean sexy numbers like 103 would definitely increase the number of viewers just to see 103. plus, there is normally a strategically placed add right near the gun reading.

joe buck says, "the sears roebuck hotjobs.com miller lite chevrolet radar gun says kenny rogers last fastball was 97 mph"

all jesting aside, i can honestly remember watching a yankee game on espn and the yes network simultaneously (sp?) and the radar readings were different. how could that be?
