I love this kid. I coached him when he was 11 on the Durham Diamondbacks AAU squad. Ive watched him continue to grow as a player and a young man over the years. He is very very good. Im sure coach Dease will have this young man playing somewhere next season and they will be glad to have him. He is a legit upper 80's guy with a nasty hook. He was a warrior for Orange last season he took most of the big games and delivered down the stretch. Another 07 they have is very good as well. Marquez Riley hope I spelled the first name right. A 2b stud who hits from the left side and can run. Just to give you guys a little idea about these two kids, I was at the Northern Durham Southern Durham football game a couple of weeks ago and they were both there as well. They came over where I was and sat down with my wife and I. We spent the entire game just talking baseball. They love the game and they can flat out play it.

Marquis Riley is an 08, MIF, good stick, great hands

Grier Harrington, SS/RHP, Northwood HS looks good too.

I've just found this board......I think one of the most dedicated baseball players I've ever met is a young 17yr. old Wil Lambert out of East Montgomery High School. For the last couple of years while I am practicing football ..... Wil is out on either the baseball mound or the football field working out.....he's alone,with his dad, or he's convinced someone else to come out and train with him, but he's there most every day...pitching, hitting in the cage, or running......most days he's doing them all every day right through football season and beyond.........He's been asked by our football and basketball coaches to play both sports for the past four years because he's a good athelete and he doesn't depend on Coaches to push him....he seems to have an inner hunger for bettering himself "in baseball"and the coaches see that I think...they think they can translate his desire for baseball to their sport I guess...but he passes on those sports so he can concentrate on "his" game, and he says he won't take a chance on being injured and messin up his chances of playin college baseball, almost nobody in our school other than Ryan Houser, Travis Mcbride or Eddie Kellam,likes to catch him up when he pitches because he pitches so fast.

I've heard that he plays all year and I know from talking to some other players that Wil's gone every weekrend playing. He loves baseball, he works at it harder than most anyone I know in any sport, and last year at East Montgomery he won the award for most improved student out of our entire school because he was prepping for the chase of the elusive college baseball scholorship......I've learned that baseball players have to have good grades to get the scholarships.

So when you are talkin about great 07 players who ABSOLUTELY LOVE the game that are great players and WORK HARD at improving themselves who push themselves to train hard independently....I think you can ask any of his coaches or players who have played with him over the years and they will agree.Wil Lambert is a super guy, with a super attitude, and a super example for baseball in general.

He goes to a little 1-a high school........but it's my opinion he'lll be a great player one day if he holds onto his desire, and stays healthy.

He has a fire within him, and he has a genuine "passion"for the game.

He's got game!!

Will is having an excellent fall for the Copperheads. He has improved steadily since the summer and is throwing the best I have seen him at this time. His confidence has grown and I have a lot of respect for the young man.

BTW Kellam and Houser are fine players too and all three are fine young men that Montgomery County can be proud of!

Pioneer Pride...you might want to check your facts there...Mr. Minford (no offense) was 1-3 last year.

don't know the story on the lost games or the kid, but u gotta rememeber that just because a pitcher goes 1-3 doesn't mean hes not a good pitcher - any pitcher has to have defense working behind him - know of way too many games where a pitcher gets the "L", but the fielders were the ones that didnt come thru - or the offense didnt come thru w/hits when theres no reason they shouldnt have - mho

There was a kid for Cary Jr. Legion a couple of years ago that had a really live arm- Hunter Bocat (sp?). Don't know where he is now, but saw him pitch some with that jr. legion team and nobody on that team touched him. I don't know if he moved or what, but he was legit low to mid 80s as a sophmore with a frame to grow into (6 foot 2 or 3"), lanky kid with an overhand delivery that made him that much tougher. Fastball had a lot of movement on it then and I was sure he'd be something as he got older, but don't know what happended to him.
