Generally speaking.... For a baseball person, it was a sensory overload of course. Weather was great basically after the first day. Pefect Game seemed to do a great job of handling the weather and the game load.
Based on speaking with a few scouts/coaches, the overall talent may have been down somewhat (but that could just depend on what they were looking for.) Several of the play-off teams were less than loaded by the time they got out of their pools, not to mention by the time they got deeper into the playoffs. With that being said, it is fun to see that much talent from all over this part of the world in one spot. Several North Carolina players, from several different teams, definitely left their mark. The worst part of the trip was leaving upper-80 degree temps to head back to Charlotte.

It was fun, the weather was nice (for the most part), the people were friendly, and the event was well run. PG handled the day of rain very well. My son had a great time and thought the most fun of the event was getting to play the Reds Scout Team and all the scouts, probably about 50-60 to start the game, they brought to watch.

On an individual basis I really cann't tell if it helped with my sons recruiting or not as the scouts seemed to move from game to game, watching an inning here and an inning there. I know that several scouts from teams my son has an interest in watched portions of his games but you just don't know if they will show up when he is in the game or maybe when he wasn't playing at his best.

Overall it was a nice baseball vacation and worth the time and money as it is something you don't have a chance to do very often.

I was at the tournament and it was my first to jupiter... I went to East Cobb in the summer. But this was a new experience for me personally. There were unbelievable ball players every where. It really put some things in perspective of how big this world really is. In all it was a great tournament and I was truly humbled through it

Yes...it is a different experience then what you will find at East Cobb in the summer time. One of the things I like the most is that you have the top players across the country playing....so you will tell very quickly how you size up against the best. And what I have found is that NC has some of the best talent anywhere.

I had a friend tell me that there were as many as 250 scouts at a couple of the SC Panther's games.

As a player, you must keep in mind one thing. The scouts may be coming over to watch a couple of innings of the opposing team's pitcher, but this is your chance to catch their attention. I can tell you 100's of stories of a player that participated in Jupiter and within weeks of playing were contacted by a school or pro scout that watched them play for the first time.

For a HS player, Jupiter is baseball "Heaven".

An amazing fact: the first 3 years at PG-Jupiter, every player that participated received a baseball offer at a college.

I received this from a friend connected to your program:
"In our first game Thursday night a parent counted over 250 scouts at our game alone, 3-2 loss."

In a way, the Jupiter tournament gives the 17/18-year-old player his best possible sense of what degree of "step up" his move to college ball holds for him. The difference, of course, is that college players are not only that skilled; but, many are 2-3 years older than the entering freshman. That's why I've always said that it's impossible to exaggerate the magnitude of the challenge in the freshman year.

Congratulations to all area players who attended the tournament! It's a lifetime memory!

I have one incident burned into my memory that I will never forget. Of course, it involves Prepster's son, so he has heard it a million times.
