I agree, but I can't believe you haven't offered some huge inducement to Coach27 (like a trading of players...and perhaps a beach house) to get him on the Copperheads.:coffee2:

I told Kenny I would triple his salary at South Granville, put his son on full scholarship to our public school, and let him use our ROCKET for transportation any time he wanted. All that and "a player to be named later". I can't see why Kevin wouldn't accept it, though!! I even offered meals (something I can't offer everybody I know). :SmokinBanana: :SmokinBanana:

Speaking of "everybody I know"...he called me this afternoon asking for advice of places to eat. I said, "pack some luchbags"..there ain't nuthin' open.
I received a Thank You note from the Charleston Chamber of Commerce...and the mayor mentioned something about a key to the city.

Getting back to the topic. Jeff May has the size and ability to be the best catcher from our state since Landon Powell.

Having seen both play, I have to agree. Their work ethic is similiar, tireless workers, both put in the qulaity extra time. Very comparable IMHO.

Speaking of "everybody I know", I look at it this way... If I say "he ain't with me", do you think I can get a discount?

BTW... I have a couple of 08's and an 09's I think have the potential and tools to be pretty good players. Time will tell though. All are great kids!

    08's: PERSON HIGH SCHOOL, ROXBORO
Jeremy Peed OF/RHP. 6'3/190 Strong arm, very good speed, potential power to all fields, has gotten stronger. Similiar to Robbie Byrd (now at Barton).
Craig Reid OF: 5'11/175 Very good speed, excellent range in the outfield, solid offensive threat. Right now a gap hitter, as he gets stronger his power will continue to develop.

    09's:
Trey Davis C/INF 5'9/175 Solid Tools, tough gritty player that can play most any position. Will be one to keep your eyes on.

    nothing plus nothing leaves nothing!

First of all thanks guys for all the nice things you said about my boy. Hes got a ways to go but he works at it hard. Now , Steve you see my heading? I gave up my meager salary a couple of years ago so we could pay a pitching coach that is on staff. So if you triple nothing I still got nothing. The full ride sounds pretty good but the gas would kill me. But you never mentioned that Rocket. But what would have happend if I would have hit that car the other day on your rocket instead of my truck? Somebody might have gotten hurt dude!

On a serious note. I have said it for years and I will repeat it again. If I had to move from South Granville there are two guys I would want my son to play for in a New York minute. Steve Evans and Dean Dease. Not to slight anyone but the fact is I know these guys. They care about their players. They help their players in anyway they can. They know the game and they know how to teach the game. And their players play with class and respect the game. Is there any wonder both of these guys compete year in and year out regardless of their talent level?

And I will say this about the Copperheads. Talk to their players. They love the coaches. They love the guys they play with. I believe that this group will become on of the elite showcase teams in the southeast within the next two or three years. They do things the right way folks. They in fact have some outstanding players right now. In my opinion they only need to build some pitching depth to compete at the national level. One things for sure they are getting their guys looks and from the right people. And they are getting kids signed. They are doing a great job with some outstanding folks at the helm.

    Myers , Pilkington , Wyant

I do know these three kids. Myers plays at Durham Jordan. He is a mif that can play 3b as well. He also can bring it from the hill. Steele is a kid that can swing it as well.

Pilkington is a LHP (Not sure if he plays the field). This kid is tough on the hill. He has a nasty change that he throws anytime in the count for strikes. Ive seen him four of five times on the hill and he has been impressive everytime out.

Wyant is a RHP and a big boy around 6'4 200. Athletic kid who can bring it from the hill. Andrew should have a very good season for Foard.

All three of these guys are very good players. I have not seen Tancini play , is he a catcher? If so I saw him at the Impact Showcase this weekend at Wingate.

Yes Tancini is primarily a catcher but can play anywhere very good speed, good bat I agree Myers is a top notch hitter with a nose for the game, Pilkington is probably one of the best two way prospects in the 08 class, a LHP with 85-87 fb and some nasty off speed stuff, he can hit a little to, as A. Partin called him a top 2 way guy. Another 08 LHP Zach White, dont know where he is but saw him a few years ago and at that time was very projectable, where is he now?

    Zach White

Zach is an '08 at North Davidson HS and an excellent LHP. My son played with him this fall and I was very impressed. Legit mid-80's guy with a nasty breaking ball that will buckle your knees. Especially tough on left handed hitters. Absolutely love his approach on the bump. He's a gimme the ball, let's go get'em kind of kid. Anyone would love to have this kid in their rotation.
