    I've seen WC play the last 2 weeks and they have hit their stride at the right time. I've talked to both Crest and East Gaston coaching staffs and they say that they crazy thing is you know exactly what's coming and you still can't stop it. Rod Chilsom (sp) may be the best RB in the state next year. This kid hits the hole and if there is any daylight you can tell him bye bye. And it's not just the skill guys that are fast. Big 66 for WC is on the o-line and plays MLB. He had an INT vs East Gaston and he was gone.

    Should be an interesting game with these 2.

    WC has hit their stride ...

    That seems to be the case, just looking at what they've done the last 3 weeks. I'm concerned.
    Of course, I was very concerned prior to the Reynolds game too!

    To all the "Mountain Boys"--stay focused on the task at hand, do what you do best, back each other up and shut WC down! You guys can do this. This has been a great season, and the pride that you have created in this community for your team is amazing.     good luck to coach snow, chunk , pete, and all the coaches and players at whs!!!!!! this is something you will take with you for the rest of your lives!just stay centered and never ever give up!!!!!!!!!!! (thanks to jimmy v for that)!!!! again ,good luck from the cougars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I think that the boys are gonna way too motivated with their recent upset of AC Reynolds. Breitenstein will be back in form, and very hungry for more yards, touchdowns...etc. :allhail: Yea, Breitenstein has carried us for most of the season, but look who all has stepped up during the playoffs. Baine Martin, Tanner Martin, Caleb Martin, Adam Chiarolanzio, Blake Beason, Preston Oliver. We have so many people that can contribute. Hopefully thats enough for tonight

    The field will be soft after heavy rain overnight.
    Clear and cold by gametime. Temps around 30 at KO ... falling into the 20's.
    Bring a parka.

    Everybody here down at the bottom of the mountain are pulling for you guys. Go Pioneers!!!

    And BTW, if nothing else I hope you guys win because Langston Wertz is making me sick kissing up to his alma mater when during the entire regular season he thought Watauga was the story of the year.

    definitely pulling for the Pioneers!!
    as a former NW4A follower, its refreshing to see WHS playing so deep in the FOOTBALL playoffs.
