Has anybody else been shocked when their college freshman walked in the door for Christmas break? My son came home yesterday. He left a kid. He came home a MAN. Its amazing what real S&C can do for someone who has never done right before.

    I'm right there with you

My son left in August benching 215 and came in the other day telling me he was at 290 and would have 300 by 1/1/07.

He then proceeded to de-thrown me as the arm-wrestling champ of the household. Oh well, it didn't pay much anyway.

    Yankees

Yes, Yankees, its very humbling. This afternoon I helped Mac with his throwing regimen and I have to confess. Between his S&C and my out of shape 46 year old self, I was nervous for the first time ever while catching him. Where does your son play?

He is a pitcher at Davidson College. One of Mac's long-time summer teammates is at Frances Marion. Devin Brown. Please have your son tell him hello for us.

    That's great news

as a parent of a HS senior who will be moving on to the next level next August - it's great to learn that "what you hear" from collegiate training programs really pays off. I know our son is chomping at the bit to get into a program that is tailored specifically to baseball and the positions that he'll be playing.

    Hey Yankee!

I was coming through by Francis Marion last night about 6:30 & thought about stopping by & letting Matt buy me dinner, but I relaized that I may be interupting him in deep study mode. I hope things are going well for Matt & the Patriots. Shane & I were checking 'em out on the internet the other day. Keep us up on how Matt is doing. Hope to see you soon!

I hope Matt doesnt lose his flexibility with all that bench pressing. I worry about that from a training standpoint. BTW.. How did his fall go? I thought about him often travelling all over NC and SC this fall.

My son ,a pitcher, enrolled as a freshman at 6ft 4in and 175 lbs. After the meal plan and the conditioning program he now weighs in at 195 lbs and no excess fat. Needless to say, I dont catch him any more either.

my "little" brother is a hs senior. he has me by about 5" and 40lbs but i am 13 years wiser. anyway i used to throw with him quite a bit but not anymore. my hand swells and hurts for about two weeks after he crushes the bones in my palm just below my index and middle finger. definitly would not consider throwing with him after college strength and conditioning. good luck to all!!
