    Just for Braves...

This is one of my all time favorites.

High School Baseball; Top of the 7th, runners on 1st and 2d, no outs, good hitter who can handle a bat. You are the home team. What would you do coach?

Edit-- Home team up by 1 run...facing 8th and 9th hitter after this batter. Pitcher is a SO pitcher that is starting to tire

LOL, re-read Oriole. You are the Home team. I think I would instruct my pitcher to strike him out.

    Aheeeemmmmm...

Isn't the score relevant here??? I think of all the 100 scenarios possible, and you?
Of course you could always walk em or at least let the umpire and take ur chances with the bases loaded....

You have to think about the situation of how the kids hit in that game? Is there a new pitcher? For me I dont care whos up they are going to lay one down because with infield in hitters delite.

Okay, score notwithstanding, he handles the bat well, but what is behind him? Kids that strike out more than they make contact, clutch hitters that make contact? What kind of runners do you have on base? Speed, good baserunners who will get a good jump on contact and not freeze? Being down 1 run, after you bunt, I would probably try a squeeze at some point in the count. The more times you make a team field it and throw it, the more likely something bad is going to happen. Force them to make plays.

Ultimately, I think you bunt and take your chances.
