44-28 at half fhs should have been bigger lead
    53-50 fhs end of 3.
still 3 pt game with 2 to go.
Looked like Murray adjusted to double Ford (35pt I think)) and Freedom adjusted to quit rebounding and running the court(what got the big lead)
so a tight game goes toward home team.
Nobody seemed to want it too bad the 3rd q.
Morrisons flashes of great play have long since disappeared, they need her to give a senior effort.
O childers played well for EB, yancey had good game. E.Ross was a non-factor-hit a few FT after it was over.

Bigdan,as I watch Freedon this year with their star Ali Ford I know know why Anni Atkinson was such a great player for McDowell for 4 years. Seldom did ATkinson post the points that Ford does but she lead the conference and state in assists. She was able to get her whole team involved in the game. Her co-players didn't stand around flat footed and watch the game because she was always busy feeded them the ball to score if they were open. Yes she would drive to the basket and put up that double pump shot to draw the fouls but if she was double teamed she would find the open player.Watching a good scorer like Ford is fun but watching a great team player like Atkinson was great.I hope some day for Freedoms sake Ford will become another team player like Atkinson was.

Excellent Point Tonync, the other players from the Freedom team are hesitant to shoot the ball because that is "not running the offense". Way too much talent on that team to let it go to waste. Great point guards may score their share of points however there is alot more to being a point guard than your points per game percentage. I hope the girls on the Freedom team start playing the game they know how to play and have played for numerous years.

don't think Tony has seen her play much or he'd realize she not only is team and conference's leading scorer..she's the leader in assists ...so evidently she's passing more than anyone else. It's more a matter of having a cast that can finish and take some of the load. every player has room to improve but being a team player isn't one of them from what I see. Anna was a great player but was lucky to have finishers around her.

I know this is a stretch but Ford kind of has the Allen Iverson affect on her team. She is an amazing scorer but she does get assists just as Iverson does. The only problem is when she does give the ball up the rest of the players on her team know that they better shoot it because they may not get it back again for a long time. Freedom does have a young and very talented team, she just needs to rely on her teammates more. You have got to run an offense and not just have a one man show.

McDowell has improved because they have won their last two games by double figures and Washington has not been the leading scorer in either. They are slowly becoming more of a team and that is why they are being more successful.

Just think if Ali had someone on her team like Keri Gardin (former Freedom and Virginia Tech star) who could finish plays. Her numbers would be ridiculous. Ali and Anna play/played different roles on two totally different teams. I have saw Ali play 2 times this year and I think she is the best player in the NW4A and has a very bright future ahead of her.

This was a great TEAM win for EB. You're right E. Ross, EB's team leader, didn't have her best game of the season, possible 10-12 pts. (just a guess), this is due partly from a good job of prepairing by the FHS coaches and she got in early foul trouble (4th about mid-way throught 3rd). But the key is other people stepped up big when they were needed. Like you said Childers, Yancey(who has played really good all season), and I thought M. Ross had one of her better games of the season. In the first half NONE of the EB players played like they wanted to be there. But in the 2nd half the whole team played much better and with alot of heart, it would have been very easy to just give up at that point. The coaching staff also did a great job in the 2nd half. As posted by someone on this board EB was down by as much as 22 in the 1st half and ended up winning by 12. That is a 34 pt turn-a-round against a top quality team. The EB girls should be proud of themselves, and should take this momentum to Reynolds on Fri. night where they have to play a good Rockets team that much like EB plays really tough at home. It should be a very exciting game to watch...as you never know what is going to happen when the Cardiac Cavs take the court!

Are these stats (assists, rebounds, ect..) for the entire NW4A posted somewhere? I know there are some at maxpreps, but if I'm not mistaken these have to be reported by the coaches. So this site may not include everyone. Just curious.

you have to look in about 3 places, maxpreps, ncprep and citizentimes.com
It is reliant on coaches input but the better players are usually there.
My comment on Ford is that she is at the top of almost EVERY list in points, assists, steals, 3 pt% and shooting percentage...when the team loses everyone loses but with these stats it would be hard for anyone to say she could do more or that other teamates are NOT given the OPPORTUNITY- they are. It's a matter of getting it done and I say that's the SENIORS job.
