Any Thoughts on who will be the Coach at Alexander Central! I would like to see Harper be able to take over!

Hate to see Coach Deal leave. He has done a great job with the program in Taylorsville. Harper would be a logical choice if he wants it.

Took the head coaching job at Lexington HS its in the 2A central carolinas conference.. the lexington yellow jackets are getting a great coach and one that will push them to excellence in everything they do.. in the write up in the paper today Deal thanked his community, coaches, fellow faculty, players, and everyone that helped through his 6 yrs.. i feel very close to the man which every guy that graduated with me and played football does.. my fresh, yr was his first year.. he took the varsity from 2 2-9 seasons and then my 2 yrs on varsity we made playoffs and senior year went to 2nd round.. thats just in 4 yrs.. Deal instilled in this community a confidence and passion to do greatness that was missing before.. He said that lexington seems that those kids dont seem to have the strong family atmosphere that we built at AC and that they dont support each other and hes hopign to go and help those kids.. God has pushed him in a diff direction for some time and he saw this as a chance to go and help those kids and that this one was well off enough that he had no problem leaving it.. i love this man and wish him nothing but the best.

Maybe Deal just wanted some good Bar-B-Q. Lexington is the BBQ capital of the world.

Harper wont take the job because it would be a conflict of interest. Not saying that there aren't Head coaches that double as ADs, just that this one would send a bad message to some ppl. the complaints about team funding and favortism would be relentless. not to mention how many other coaches would die to take over this growing program to call it there own. but i will say that if ron turner takes over then AC will be back at the bottom of the barrel.

Well everyone will have an opinion, however Turner may make a good choice. From 01 to 03 the Cougars went 9 - 25. Turner began calling the offense in 04 and since the Cougars have went 23 - 15.

Turner would not be a bad choice. Cougar fans need to keep this in mind. The team lost 23 seniors. Most of the 23 had played 3 years on the varsity level. The entire offensive line and the entire line on defense will graduate as well. 2007 will be a rebuilding year for Alexander Central regardless of who coaches. I got a feeling that if Harper decides to pursue the job, it will be his. Cougar fans need to be patient, the next couple of years are going to be a challenge.
