Impact Baseball just announced the top 2007 and 2008 players as well as the Dream Team for both states. Check it out. I am sure there will be a lot of discussion on this one!

I think it's about time to have Andy do an interview and have him take part in a Q&A. They are always informative

My son went to his 1st Impact ID thing the other day. I don't know much about it but it sure is developing a following. With some people it's like they drank the koolaid, others were low key about it.

Hahaha....Andy has done a fabulous job in generating an excitement for his program. But...he was the founder and initiator of the Showcase concept in NC. He deserves all of the credit in what Impact Baseball has accomplished. I wish everyone that has never met him had an opportunity to spend some quality time with Andy. He is a first class, quality person.

I remember a few years ago people criticizing him for being about the money. He and I both got a kick out of that. He put over 150,000 miles on a tired jeep (it had over 400,000 miles on it) crossing this state to check out and report on players. With all of the camps, teams and other avenues of financial resources, he netted a princely sum of $18,000 for the year.

It has never been about the money for Andy. It has always been about being around and helping to promote a quality, talented young man.

I'll save the rest of my insights for the interview

I'm very glad to hear that coming from you. I've heard the money comments. I have my own business. I see nothing wrong with making a profit while your helping the kids. If that is the case it's a win for both parties.

Well, I won't mention the names since it is a subscription site, but I will list the schools who had the most players and their rankings.

There were 25 Jr's and 100 Sr's listed. You'll have to figure out where your guys ranked:
    North Lenoir (5)- 2 JR's, (9,20), 3 SR's (26, 49, 79)
    East Rutherford (5) - 2 JR's (4, 17), 3 SR"s (11, 29, 34)
    AC Reynolds (4) - 4 SR's (10, 14, 85, 90 )
    West Forsyth (3) - 1 JR ( 1 ), 2 SR's (7, 68 )
    TC Roberson (3) - 3 SR's (1, 70, 8)
    South Caldwell(3)- 1 JR (5), 2 SR's (2,12)
    West Henderson (3)- 1 JR (21), 2 SR's ( 37,55)
    South Granville (3) - 2 JR's (6, 14) 1 SR (13)
    Fred T Foard (3) - 1 JR (18), 2 SR's (3,19)
    Ragsdale (3) - 3 SR's (22, 64, 76)

There might have been some other schools with 3 or more that I missed.

    Did Andy Partain Play baseball

Who cares. The kids enjoy his coaching style and the way he interacts with them. The kids hustle, exhibit great attitiudes and push each other. There are a lot of quality programs out there, and Andy's is just one of them. He keeps the costs low, gives them National attention, puts them in cool uniforms, and does everything he can to keep their enthusiasm and confidence high. Just ask the kids who have played for him.

I didn't meet the man (Andy) when I was down there the other day. There were 80 kids and I saw no reason to bother him. I do know 1st hand two coaches in his group and they are excellent coaches. Both were major league pitchers and are at Ragsdale. I feel my son is very lucky to have that quality of instruction/coaching. I'm not sure every high school kid gets that quality of coaching.
