    Predictions For 2007

3A Southwestern Randolph should still be tough this year. As far as I know they only lost one starter. With the strong pitching from V Cambell, Brittney Marsh & and Anna Maness, plus the big sticks on offense, they should be a contender

well, you're right, that branch i'm stepping on is really thin, but ya hope for the best with the group of pitchers we have, you know them all personally, but middle of the pack might be attainable based on losses to graduation last year, loss of best conference pitcher this year and players who have decided to not play this year. Remember, we only have four teams in our 3a conference, and i think the team to beat in 3a is gonna be south point, the other two depend on who shows up for tryouts and i understand that one school has seven players who would not come back. we're just hoping to not be last, know what i mean?? and since we're picked to be dead last, any victory will be a plus in these girls minds. hope to see ya at some of our games this year, every pitcher on that field has been to you for training, even the coach was your kid. bessemer city, friday at 8am first game, dont know the rest of the schedule. i'll be the one handing out hot coco, as usual.

Don't give up on a season before it even starts. With one assistant coach leaving I'm sure a knowledgeable coach will replace him. And... I'm always cautious when reading statements that totally blame the coach. If the athletic ability is really there, there is always hope.

Enka will be tough again this year although they lost some great seniors last year.
Enka still has UT signee, Kelly Grieve in the infield and UNC-Pembroke signee, Christy Freeland in the outfield.
Jamie Burwell should do a good job on the mound. The team looks strong all around.

    Forbush?

Where does Forbush fall into the mix? Is it true that they lost no one from last years team?

I don't know who will be on the mound for us this year. We had 3 different girls throw on jv last year but I don't think we will have anyone that is close to what we had last year in Starnes. Not only on the mound but at the plate also. We will have Beck and Hobbs back to lead the offense and with Hobbs at SS and Beck behind the plate we will be solid there. We also have our 3rd and 2nd base starters returning and along with our centerfielder. It looks to me like we need 2 outfielders and a 1st base to step up along with a pitcher Someone who can bring them all together as a team will be our biggest challange

scfan; Correct me if I'm wrong but I have heard from some of our girls who are friends with Beck word is that she isn't going to play this year. Also heard several of the girls not real happy with the coaching situation and may skip this year. Hope I'm wrong especially about Beck. Way to much talent there to not be out there for her senoir year. I know what your going through though we had a similar situation a couple years ago with our team. New coach who wasn't up to par tore our program apart. Thankfully our administration saw it and it was only for one year. If your upper classmen are giving up the sport your athletic director needs to take a look before it is to late. JMO Good luck and let us know how it went after tryouts

I hope that is not right about Beck. That would be a big loss
