I know we did this earlier, but let's update it again. Give a recap of the teams in this conference. Players to watch? Predictions?

    1) Davie
    2) East Rowan
    3) West Forsyth
    4) Mount Tabor
    5) North Davidson
    6) South Rowan
    7) Reynolds

Even with the losses of John McDaniel and Brad Corrier to the War Eagle rotation, they have too much talent in the field and at the plate not to win conference. Tom Kuell and sophmore stud Ryan Carter should get people out on the hill. With USC bound Merrifield leading off, the War Eagles have no weakness in their lineup (remember, Merrifield still has an amazing 28 straight stolen bases streak at hand). With a transfer 1st-basemen and a junior Matt Oswell in left, the War Eagles should repeat this year as champs.

Steedly and Rowland should be able to carry East Rowan past West this year for 2nd place. East Rowan is a very scrappy, well-coached team.

West Forsyth's lack of chemistry this year with eventually hurt them. No doubt they have loads of talent, but inexperience against good compition with Jarvis and McBride will be costly as Holt looks to move to a reliever roll to prepare for next years Tarheels.

    1) West Forsyth-return 8 starters and add a super star
    2) Mt. Tabor- Return a lot of young players
    3) Davie- Good pop in the lineup
    4) East Rowan- Rowland/Steedly
    5) North Davidson- This is a sleeper team that can win
    6) Reynolds- Welch is a good coach that has his teams prepared
    7) South Rowan- Carson hurt this team

what lack of chemistry are you talking about baseballfreak?? this is the same team that has played together now for three years. the same team that made it to the final four in 2005. as far as jarvis and mcbride hurting the team on the mound????????? i will bet that holt will only move (to be the closer) if it is beneficial to the team. jarvis is 14-1 over the past 2 years. mcbride has signed with unc-g, and don't forget the robertson kid to throw into the mix as well. it will be a tough conference battle between the titans, war eagles, and i think the spartans will be knocking on the door as well. should be another great year in the cpc. as far as not having the experience playing tough teams? they did go to the final four in 2005, played tough against providence last year. and a large majority that plays travel ball in the summer, i think they are use to playing against good teams.

    mythoughts,
Name one good team that holt has not pitched against. Last year the 3-way contintion for 1st place was East, West, and Davie. I had the liberty of seeing West play East and Davie and every game I saw, Holt pitched. And with Sapp out of a job with Lassitor moving in, I see butting heads in the West lineup.

    No Way!

West has an outstanding coach and I know alot of these kids and they are winners not whiners. They have too much at stake this year to let things that do not matter hurt their chances of having another outstanding season. NO way do they have internal problems because an outstanding player joined their club. West will be a tough out for anyone they face this year. They have a bunch of kids that have wrapped up their college decisions and the only thing left to worry about it winning. Not only do they have a bunch of upperclassman that can flat out play they have some underclassman that are going to be very good as well. I look for them to win their conference and challenge for a state title this year.
