Man this place is dead, where are all the NW4A folks? I know the Charlotte folks are few and far between but where are the regulars?... any thoughts on how the 4A west region is going to pan out this week?

I think Reynolds has a good shot at beating Crest tuesday night. McDowell JV's played within eight points of Crest back in December, that outta tell you a little about how weak Crest is as a 2-seed. How about Freedom, can the Lady Patriots erase all the recent struggles in NW4A play and get going against West Meck? Nobody is saying a word about East Burke, they are hosting South Meck in the first round...can the Lady Cavs hold serve at home. And finally, what about McDowell? Are we going to see a Lady Titan team that plays aggressive defense for 32 minutes or are we gonna see the same Lady Titan squad that allowed AC Reynolds to get many 2nd chance points?

Come on everybody the silence is deafening in here...

It appears to me that East Burke has the toughest 1st round game, but it's a game they can and should deffinately win IF they play good defense. AC Reynolds has the easiest 1st round hands down.West Meck is better than Crest but they haven't shown much more, so it seems Freedom should be movin' on as well. I think the South game is a toss up, if South has one of those games like they did when they beat EB, they should win. As long as the Lady Titans show up to play they're in round 2. The 2nd rounds are a little more tricky, we'll have to see what kind of match ups everyone gets.....

    South Meck @ East Burke
    AC Reynolds @ Crest
    Freedom @ West Meck
    East Meck @ McDowell
    South Caldwell @ East Gaston

Ou of these matchups I think McDowell and ACR will advance. Everyone else kinda got burned with tough games. Good luck to everyone. Sad that we arn't with ya. This is the first sport that we played at Watauga this year that has not made the playoffs.

Just to update this issue...the NCHSAA posted on their website this morning that sites for 2nd round and sectional final games will be posted this afternoon...just visit the brackets and look under "notes" for each individual game and there should be some info.

I would think FHS is OK with theirs(draw)- they get a sub-500 team; then an E Gaston team that is maybe the most suspect of the 1 seeds.
Maybe FHS McDowell #5 could take place.

All of our teams have a good chance at winning the 1st round games. Remember great basketball is played in this conference. I see McDowell, ACR winning for sure. Having seen S. Meck this summer, East Burke should beat them. They are not the state champs from last year. Freedom and SC will be close games. I am sure Coach Parham will have his girls ready and believing they can win. And Freedom has a player naed ALI FORD! All teams must take care of the ball and turn the games into 1/2 court games. The Charlotte teams really want to turn the tempo up and push the ball.

Good luck to all teams. Represent us with pride. Bring home the title.:victoryg: :trophy: :trophy:

My thoughts... for what it's worth

So you want the truth or rose colored glasses? This is my thoughts on Freedom and I am going to be as frank as possible so I may tick a few off but this is what i see. Ali has been hounded all year by every team and I think she is wearing down. She has played her heart out but it has taken it's toll. Cierra's play has been average at best this year. Maybe getting everything together for college has made her lose focus but she has not played as well as last year. Chelsea is going to be special , sometimes she can almost take over a game but other times she will coast. In the Playoffs a team can't do that and go far. Jasmine was a Titan killer at Christmas but since then she seems to be forcing the game instead of letting it come to her. I know she will be fine though as she is solid. Emmie needs one thing to be a good player..... maturity. If she makes a bad play or misses a shot or two she lets it in her head and she is toast . If she isn't getting the mins she wants she pouts and isolates herself from the rest of the team , that was acceptable in rec ball but not on a high school team. Brittany is going to be ok next year but right now she is over her head. Andrea has been a nice surprise this year. She has gotten better as the year has went so it should be a good thing for next yr. Down in the post Brianna has been everything you could ask for as a senior, she gives it her all every game and tries to get everyone else fired up. She should be proud of her effort and leadership. Freedom is going to REALLY miss her next year. Without Olivia playing the post is a mess . Laura is a great 6th man but the problem is she is having to start and thats totally different from coming off the bench for a few mins. She does the tough things inside for freedom but playing the heavy mins wear her down. They have brought up Brooke exclusively as the sub for the post and I thought maybe they had a diamond tucked away on JV. It appears she is more like a rock in the sense she finds a place to set up on offense and never moves and on defense you have to do more than just throw up a hand and yell . I don't know if the other ladies are any better but Freedom is getting nothing from this position so why not give them a shot? What i see is a team that is looking at soccer, softball, and other things except basketball so they may win one game because West Meck isn't that good but I wouldn't expect more. Your welcome to say I don't know what I am talking about but thats what I see.
