MHS led most of the game until the 4th quarter when Crest went up by 2, but the Titans fought back and got the victory. What hurts Crest is they have no discipline and that showed when one of there players got a tech called on him with 30 seconds to go in the game. They came close to getting more techs called on them throughout the game. Petey had 23 to lead the Titans. Crest had a good look at the buzzer to tie the game, but the shoot was long. An excellent crowd on hand tonight from Marion.

I am extremely happy to see the Titans make it to their first regional appearance since 1992. These boys just keep finding a way to win in the end, it's stuff like that that wins championships. I stayed and watched East Meck and Harding go down to the end with East winning 64-56...I would love nothing more than to see a McDowell/East Meck rematch but if that happens it will likely be in a regional final. The NCHSAA will more than likely put Vance and Hopewell on the opposite sides of the bracket which means McDowell will face either one of the two. I never thought I would say this but after watching tonight's action I think McDowell is as good as any team that's going to be in Winston-Salem next week.

And as titan90 stated, McDowell brought a huge crowd tonight...we are by far the most loyal fans in the state. Crest had pretty much a home game and we still filled more seats than they did.

What titan90 forgot to tell eveyon is that if McDowell had made the front end of the 1 and 1 with 8 seconds left, Crest would not have had the chance to tie the game on a last second shot. The Titans can't let opportunties like that get away from them. That being said, I'm glad that the Titans have at least one more game left. And yes, bigdan, the do re-seed the teams at the regional, so expect McDowell to get either Vance or Hopewell.

Dan must of been at a different game than I was at. Seemed the crowd was pretty much split. Great game. They should have saved this game for 8 because when the game was over it looked like they were having a fire drill with so many heading for the exits. I would have liked to seen Bill Ellis coaching this team. This team had some good talent. They were hurt with the lost Roseboro this season because it left them with Dion as the only big. I'm still not a fan of Wall. There were some coaching decisions that I didn't agree with.

Good luck the rest of the way McDowell.

Oh, and can you miss one more free throw in the first half Crest?

Hello smashmout5,welcome to the thread. Now about that crowd, let's see how far is Crest from Bioling Springs and how far iS McDowell from Boiling Springs?? I would expect to see a 2-1 advantage for Crest. But then this is basketball not football.
