Perfect Game Top 100 High School Teams in U.S. (26-100)

Two North Carolina schools (see #35 & #91, but I coulda missed a few) made the top 100, or at least the best 26 through 100 as they're releasing the top 25 later (next week?). Florida high school baseball must be pretty good to watch given all the teams on there from FL.

    Just fun to look over.

South Caldwell is #7 and West Forsyth is #35. That's pretty good considering a few of years ago, PG was not cognizant of any NC schools...and not many of its players.

    NC Baseball

Congratulations to all the teams from North Carolina! SC # 7, WF # 35 and NL # 91! With the pitching staff and bats South Caldwell has, they should breeze through the NC 4A teams! Bumgarner is by far the top pitcher in the state as well as one of the top hitters. I just can’t believe ACR with Runion, is isn’t in the top 25, let alone the top 100. I’ve seen kids from all four of these teams play this summer either in showcase or legion and every one of these teams deserve their rankings!

Bumgarner, Poovey and Messer have to be 3 of the top 25 pitchers in the state. ACR with Runion has a top 5 pitcher and West Forsyth with Holt and the McBride brothers has a pitching staff that should compete with anyone…

North Lenoir’s John Alphin along with SC’s Messer has to be among the top 5 pitchers in the 2008 class.

West Forsyth’s Lassiter is the top prospect of the 2008 graduates in NC and should add plenty of pop to the WF potent offense. Holt is one of the purest power hitters in the state and with his 90+ fastball and the arm strengths of the McBride brothers, they should be very competitive.

As a side note, I heard rumor the younger McBride would be playing JV. Nick (PGCrosschecker # 8) is as a “5 toolsy” player as I have seen from the sophomore ranks. He has the speed, the arm strength, and bat to be an impact player on any varsity team in the state as a pitcher or outfielder. I’m glad to seem him on varsity.

I can’t wait until the Big Green makes to trip down to watch the Bumgarner / Runion match-up! The results might just show ACR should be ranked in the top 25!!!

Again - Congratulations to NC Baseball for your well deserved recognition!

    Hype

I will be very surprised if it doesn't live up to the hype.....however many times they meet! Could they feasible meet in the tournament at least once and possibly for a 3 game series???

Are the brackets available to see how the conferences would match up in the tournament? I've checked on NCHSAA.org and without a password I can't find it...
