Chad Womble 2-2 1dbl sac fly

Rocky Mount was very solid at the plate with outstanding approaches in their ab's. They put the ball in play and got timely hits. They were very solid on defense and deserved to win the game. They are always well coached by Coach Smith and they have some very talented players. I was impressed with Soph CF Brian Goodwin. The kid runs well plays a nice cf and has a great approach at the plate from the left side. Keep an eye on this kid because you will hear alot about him in the future. Soph Catcher Fish (Sorry I didnt get the first name). Very solid behind the plate. Has a good arm that will only get better but pretty good already. Nice approach at the plate. This are two guys that got my attention. Womble is very good and made a couple of mistakes but other than that did a nice job. Chris Berry pitched two strong innings. Jim Leggett pitched the 7th and did an outstanding job. Leggett is very good. Good velocity and a nice breaking ball. Congrats to Rocky Mount they played very well and are a very well coached solid baseball club.

My money was well spent watching this game. Lots of scouts in attendance to watch Chris Luck, but scuttlebut has it that they paid attention to two catchers, and two outfielders as well. RM got a little more help throughout their lineup today than did SG, and to me that was the difference in the game. If you can stay away from SG's big three(Luck,Maynard,May), you can help yourself a lot. It's known that those guys can mash it, but to me their approach at the plate this year looks much better. SG is also a little off kilter defensively with Maynard having to play 1st base(he's normally at 3rd) due to a quad injury. Hope he didn't aggravate it on that great stop he made to end an inning yesterday.
