    Freedom_Sball,

What you're saying is very interesting to say the least. I know a lot of your fellow neighbors here in McDowell County have been watching the events concerning the opening of the new schools if for nothing else to see how the School Board handles it...because more than likely there will be a day in which we may be facing the same question.

Personally I think they should not punish the kids for staying at Freedom instead of going to Patton...but here's one scenario I have? What if for example John and Jane Doe from say Heritage middle school district feels like they can't compete at East Burke so they beg their parents to get them transferred to Patton? Should they be allowed to play at Patton or should they be required to sit out a year?

That particular example might in some way be the reason why Burke County is being strict all of a sudden. If the school board allows Patton kids to stay at Freedom and they can still play sports then the East Burke folks are gonna want the same...and vise versa when Draughn opens in 2008. It's a double-edged sword regardless of how you see it.

    EYE TO EYE !!!

I'm like bothsportsdad a kid should go where ever he wants to....the only thing is that C.C. & Butler may have to extend tryouts for a month to weed out all the excessive kids that want to go those schools, but man what a athlectic program that would be in N.C......:189:

    We lost...

We (Providence) lost two quality kids that would of definitely helped our Varsity. We played them today and they are obviously both starters at AK. They did a nice job for them. I know two of S. Mecks quality kids from last year are at AK. No idea about Weddington....I would think they might lose some to Marvin Ridge if anything being Union County schools vs. CMS.

We have a good team again this year and the team dynamic is excellent. Losing the two kids to AK was our loss and their gain because I think both of these kids are quality players and people. Great topic.

Guru you are full of crap more now than I thought you where.(NOT KIDDING) "People stoop low to win" You do what is best for your kid and her career. It don't have a thing to do with winning, its all about learning the game from a coach that knows what he or she is talking about. Why would you want your kid to play for someone that does not have a clue about the game of softball

    Oh wouldn't it be nice....

Oh wouldn't it be nice if we all could get what we want? What if every kid in a district wanted to go to the same school, with the same coach?
Now that isn't reality, is it?
Talk about being full of crap, Just because people stoop to any low to win, DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT!!!!!!
People need to get a grip and learn to say SUCK IT UP to their kids every now and then!!!! In the REAL world you do not get everything you want!

Crybabies has his opinion just like everyone else. If he so chooses to move into a district so his DD can take her game to the next level, it's their God Given Right !!!! If people would learn to take care of their own, & not worry about what other people are doing, the world would be a better place !!:hurray: Sounds to me like you're a disgruntled parent who may have lost a game this past week. If you are not happy with your DD's program you also have the same right. Enuff said cause I know where it's headed.

    God Given Rights?

I was told God didn't take sides in subjects relating to sports! No, I'm sorry to inform you, I'm not a disgruntled parent or something! My DD and SS has passed all these hurdles already. Speaking of God, Thank God!
I am now just a parent who enjoys the game of fastpitch and has an opinion! That is what this board is for, correct? And lord knows, we wouldn't want him to hold his DD back, by not moving to the team that fits her, instead of expecting her to fit into the team that is where she is!
And I couldn't agree more if Crybabies wants to buy his DD's way into the best program in the state or country for that matter, more power to him! But don't come back on here a few years later, complaining how the DD can't keep a marriage together, because her husband will not or can not buy her everything she wants, when she wants it! Eventually they have to learn to eat the grass on their side of the fence! But whatever!
    Peace, Love and Happiness
