    Hey everybody,

Usually just read the board- only posted a few times, but I have a question on the Blue-Grey Classic. What are your opinions on the event in terms of exposure provided to the prospect, level of talent that usually attends, and number of scouts? If one receives the invite, is it worth the fee? Also... would it be considered a "big deal" to get invited to play for Team Carolina?

Overall help and thoughts are appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Here are some links to threads discussing Blue/Grey games in the past. I hope it helps...and i hope it's still true.

Without taking the time to read the other posts on this topic, I would highly recommend going. This is one of the better attended events of the year by college coaches and scouts (assuming you are going to Wake). I have been to Coastal and could not say the same about coach attendence. It is a long day, but the event is run well. They allow coaches to see everything they need to see in a short period of time. I don't know what the cost is, but if exposure is what you are looking for, I don't know of a better event.

I would agree with 4-6-3 DP - but I can only talk about the Wake event. In comparison of many showcases we've attended - the scouts in attendance at the BG Wake event were only equalled by the number of scouts who were at the NC State Games. It was well run and worth the money/effort as far as exposure goes.....

Also, I would recomend going, theres a kid in the my area who was seen by a scout 3 yrs ago at the Blue Grey Classic in Myrtyle Beach. This past Fall the same Scout saw him at a tournement in NC and was impressed by his progress. To make a long story short, now he's going to be playing College baseball next year. Those events are attended by lots of University scouts.
