    Burns 4 Crest 0

Once again errors hurt Crest. The defense has been very shakey over the last few games and it got the best of them yesterday. Crest had 5 errors vs Burns leading to the Bulldog victory. Jordan Robinson pitched 5 innings with out giving up and ER. Crest is now 10-5 on the year.

    Burns vs. Crest

Hey, how bout we give some credit to Adam Izokovic (Burns Pitcher) who went the distance only allowing only 4 hits and striking out 6. Errors didn't hurt Crest, the lack of hitting did. Great game Adam.

Ryan Leach hit the first batter of the game who then scored on a Bumgarner double. Leach then returned the favor in the bottom of the 6th by doubling in a run to tie. ER holds in the top of the 7th, though SC threatened. Their leadoff batter struck out with runners at 2nd and 3rd to end the inning. First pitch bottom of the 7th, Michael Milam drills a shot into the woods over right center.

Both pitchers were excellent. Bumgarner had 3 hits. Not much else happening for SC. I'm guessing East had 4 hits total, maybe 5, but they counted.

    SC 1 0 0 0 0 0 0...1 4 0
    ER 0 0 0 0 0 1 1...2 5 2

    HITTING:
    ER -
Michael Milam 1-3, Game Winning HR (4)
    Zeke Blanton 2-3, R, 2 SB
    Ryan Leach - 1-2, 2B, RBI
    Seth Baldwin - 1-3

SC - Madison Bumgarner 3-3, RBI

    PITCHING:
    ER - Ryan Leach 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 11 K's, 1 BB.......WIN (5-1)
    SC - Madison Bumgarner 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 11 K's, 1 BB

RECORDS - East Rutherford 16-1, South Caldwell 16-1

Leach hit the first batter of the game, Josh Seifert, who then scored on Bumgarners double. That was the only run Leach would surrender. Zeke Blanton singled to lead off the 6th and scored on Ryan Leach's double. Tied 1-1, Michael Milam hits a walk-off HR on the 1st pitch in the bottom of the 7th to win it. Great crowd, great game. For those wondering, Bumgarner was anywhere from 91-96 mph, Leach was 88-92, each holding there velocity each inning.

TOURNAMENT OUTSTANDING HITTER AWARD - Zeke Blanton
TOURNAMENT OUTSTANDING PITCHER AWARD- Ryan Leach

Great game by 2 outstanding teams. Definitely 2 of the best pitchers you will ever see at the high school level and both signed with the Tar Heels (I hope they both show up and go to college). Not much excitement if you like alot of hitting and scoring but give credit to both pitchers. Huge crowd and great atmosphere.

Adam did a great job in the game, but the errors have been something that Crest is having trouble with as of late. Crest has had games with 5 and 6 errors. Yes the errors did hurt Crest, but you're right so did the hitting.
