Ryan Murray a freshman catcher at Mars Hill was found dead saturday morning. They noticed he wasn't at practice friday so Saturday morning the coach goes into his room and found he had taken his own life. He is from Maryland and many people on here may never heard of him, but when hear you about this tragedy, it just hits home. I have had the pleasure of playing against him and he was an awesome competitor. I hope all of his family, friends and teammates can find some peace from this sad sad tragedy. But I was asked to post this and when writing this, I am just at a lose for words. Talking with one of his teammates, it just hurts me to imagine something happening like this to one of my teammates and can't even begin to imagine what they are going through. They are playing tomorrow and I just ask people to take a minute out of your day to pray for his family and teammates so that they can get out there and play for Ryan on such an emotional day.

    Your in my prayers Ryan

Sorry lefty. anytime a young person takes their own life, or leaves us for any reason, it is way too long.

Prayers to his family, may GOD look over them at this terrible time.

Very sad news....it's always difficult to understand why things like this happen. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, the team and school.

Wow!!.....I know some people believe their life is just too tough and there is no way that they can overcome their problems...so they believe this will end their sorrow. What they fail to realize is the sorrow they leave behind. I feel for the family involved and pray for their comfort, but this is a selfish act and I hate with a passion that he decided to take this path.

I cant imagine that as a Dad... mY prayers go out to the family and friends that are left behind... I just dont understand what goes on in the heads of people that see no hope... we all have tough times... ALL we can do is fervently pray for our youth and hope they can see what God can really do...

Some good news to report. Mars Hill won 14-1 today. Whats catchy about the score is that Ryan's number was 13, in which MH won by 13. Clarke Rollins hit 3 HR's on the day and Charlotte native David DeSiliva was 3-3. Talking to David, it was such an emotional day for everybody and they could really feel his presence out there with them. So hopefully this is a stepping stone for them to put this behind them and hopefully move on with everything, even though it will be tough.

I have two sons and a daughter about this age as well...I don't know where I'd find the strength to go on if one of them were gone.

Thoughts and prayers sent to the family and his teammates.
