I had a baseball fan send this to me. I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to the rules. I know this is the place to talk baseball and you guys seem to know your stuff. Any information on this?????

"What rules does the NCHSAA or SPC Conference use to settle identical
Conference Records? Say 3 teams end up 4\7 - do they go head-to-head
first, then total runs scored against the other team if still tied? Do
they consider any value in Parkwood beating Anson - (the 1 seed) when
comparing Concord's 0\2 record against Anson, ETC? Any insight on this?"

K63,,,,,,,,,, maybe some of these HS coaches can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe if your referring to the top 3 teams of any conference ending in a tie, all splitting with each other, then there's a coin flip.

In the case where the 3-way tie is down in the middle of the standings, I believe the team who beat the highest seed would get the nod, if there is such a team,,,, and if none of the 3 middle teams beat a higher team, then go back to the coin flip.

Not sure runs scored or allowed comes into play determining tiebreakers in HS ball. Although runs allowed in conference games ONLY, "IS" one of the tiebreakers at the American Legion level. Again, one of these HS coaches can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

if teams in the 3 or 4 spot are tied, tied head to head, would the team with the win over the higher seed win the tie breaker?

I believe that is what I heard, but they (NCHAA) refer you to the "Game and something to breakdown all tie breakers" We need a coach to explain all of the scenarios.

If any team wins the conference tournament and they were not the conference champions, they are seeded 2nd. So the last place team has the possibilty to be seeded 2nd in their conference for the state playoffs
