# of games/week?

honest question here TBR. concerning HS games, are any rules in place that prohibit a team playing "too many" games in a week? how about pitching? can a pitcher throw indefinetly?
play safe.

 

NCHSAA Rule

A high school team baseball/softball can only play 4 games in a week only when one of the the games is on a non Sunday that both schools are out that day ie: Saturday, or both schools are out for a teacher's work day. otherwise only 3 game in a week can be played legally. I don't think there is a limit to how much a pitcher can pitch,only the coach's conscience would guide him/her.

All these rules are silly. Somebody the other day said something about gas prices, and traveling to games. Have tournaments, and get 4 or 5 games per day. There is plenty of money to put gas in a softball team's bus, just the same as football, or any other sport. One of these days, there won't be any school ball, it will be all travel.

 

You can play 4 games during the school week as long as the fourth game is part of a double header. If it's not part of a double header, then it must be on a non school day.
