    semi finals

    #3 E Randolph 12
    #2 SE Guilford 9

    #1 Ragsdale 4
    #4 Randleman 0

Ragsdale beats Randleman for the third time this season behind a masterful pitching performance by Catlin Carter. Carter was on all night giving up 3 singles and one walk while striking out 9. Ragsdale defense was backed him up as well erasing two of those four base runners with double plays.

Ragsdale's seniors in the middle of the lineup accounted for all the runs tonight. Ragsdale scored one in the first off Randleman starter Daniel(?) Tuttle. Carter got on base on a HBP, Brent O Berry drew a one out walk then Jason Wallace drove in Carter with a single up the middle.

Ragsdale scored three more in the third as Wallace doubled in Carter who led off with a single and moved to third on O Berry's double. Two walks and two wild pitches chased Tuttle as O Berry and Wallace both scored. Ben Bunting relieved with no outs and pitched well the last four innings giving up a walk and a single, striking out four and getting a couple of double plays out of his defense.

But with Carter on top of his game there was no way Randleman was going to threaten tonight.

With the win and the loss by Southeast, Ragsdale wraps up the #1 seed in the playoffs. E Randolph beat SEG for the third time this season and has a chance to move into the second seed if they can beat Ragsdale. Ragsdale lost the conference title last year to Asheboro and although they don't need the win for the seed I'm sure the seniors would hate to see ER get that trophy on their field.

Ragsdale swept ER during the regular season.

Carter is now 9-2 on the season and is looking as tough as he did last year.

    Good Luck Ragsdale

Should be a very good game in Jamestown tonight.
Ragsdale and ER are both playing very well.

Ragsdale wins the conference championship 9-3 over Eastern Randolph. I don't have a lot of details. I didn't get there until two outs in the bottom of the fourth with Ragsdale up 5-3. Ragsdale added three more in the fifth and one in the sixth. Umps were bad, ER booted the ball and threw some away, but also made some good defensive plays.

David Coffey pitched all seven for his 8th win (8-1) of the season. No hitting stats. I know Catlin Carter in a solo HR, thats about it.

Ragsdale is now 22-3 on the season ready for another playoff run starting next Friday at home.
