Ok. Here's one for the board. Aluminum bats. Just saw a story on the news about how in New York they have banned the use of aluminum & composit bats. Thats right the wood return. Thoughts:feedback:

Understanding that there has been a lot of reports about this subject. I refer to the school system in NYC have banned their use. This was on Fox 8 news tonight.

Good for them. I wish we would do that in NC. All it would take is one class action suit against the school system and ...bam...we would be hearing the crack of bats again.

I'm with you also on this one. California is going away from metal bats for ages 12 and younger.

And as I have stated on here many times before, as the demand for wood rises, the production increases, and the prices will drop. As long as the tree huggers don't file that class action lawsuit for turning too many trees into bats.

In parts of California they have prohibited the use of plastics bags. They say they are bad for the environment, and maybe they are. So now they're gonna kill more trees and make more paper bags. I'm in the plastics business but not the plastics bag business so it doesn't directly impact me but these Californians kill me. FWIW, the cost of metals is driving the cost of metal bats up.

I know it's a dumb question from an outsider, but I'm curious: What kind of wood are wood bats made of?
