North Davidson did a great job against our ball club last night. We did not make the routine plays we have the first 28 games of this year... alot due to North's speed and coaching. Coach Lambros always does a great job preparing his team.
Our team at Central is a quality group of indidviduals that handled alot of adversity throughout the last month of the season. My kids always played hard, respected the game and honored the flag. I could not have asked for more dedication and discipline from a group of 22 young ladies. It was my job to put my players in a position to succeed. I failed in this game to properly prepare my club. Lessons learned and experience gained.
I look forward to watching the North and Hopewell game. It should be a good one.

Years ago I meant a young man with a flat top. His team was so very well prepared. I wanted my team to be ready to play because he had raised the bar so very high. I lost the game that night and his path from that day has been so well documented here in North Carolina.Little did I know that I had meant a dear friend. One that I would travel with, laugh with, and talk at length about our families. All this while working to get better in ball. There is no one more knowledgable about the game of fast pitch softball than Coach Sherrill as far as I am concerned. For his practices are very in debt. He does not need to change them because I've seen them. Last night after the game I was happy for our kids but I was also thinking about the kids of Central and their coaches. But most of all about a good friend. The things he has done for numerous kids are not just about ball. But life long learning that makes them better people. Last weekend before I got on the plane, who called about my family but Coach Sherrill. Not about my game with JM that I was going to miss. But about my son. He asured me I had our kids ready to play. Fastpitch softball is a funny game and it is hard to figure out. I asure you Coach Sherrill has it down. I know he has made me a better coach, a better Family man, and most of all a better person. It will be so much fun coaching with him and a privilege. Thanks Monte for everything. Coach L

With the example set by both of these coaches there is there is no doubt why they are so highly respected not only in our communities but in this great nation. With the "win at all cost" attitude growing in this country it is refreshing to witness selfless sacrifices made by these two men. I watched the game near the CC dug out and watched as a couple of parent/ fans started a verbal confrontion with the CC coaches during a good contest and I am disapointed and embarrassed. If they could see the shinning example you both set for your respective teams. Thanks for guiding our young DDs not only in softball, but for being an example for a lifetime. Now go out there ND and win a championship.

Wow, how can you argue with the completely selfless acts of class shown by Coach Lambros and Coach Sherill. Everyone should learn something from these two gentleman. Good luck to both in all future endevors.
