    This is a wood bat tournament at UNCW and other Wilmington venues sponsored by Central Carolina Prospscts. Each team will play a game at UNCW. Please visit the website for more information at www.ccprospects.net

    Good tournament, good crowds... lots of fun... and much needed rain, so getting washed out doesnt bother me that much....

    Copperheads White Scores

    Copperheads White '09 & 10 team defeated the Carolina Angels Friday night 3-0. Saturday they played a very good Carolina Hurricanes team and the game was called after five innings due to rain. The white team trailed the hurricanes 2-1 going into the bottom of the fifth and scored 1 run to tie, howevever they had the bases loaded with two outs and failed to score. Copperheads looked very good I thought with excellant pitching and timely hitting. I believe they only allowed 1 earned run. I think the hitters from all teams struggled somewhat using wooden bats. But it sure sounded good! UNCW is a great place to play. Will not compain about the rain, everyone needed it.
