    Region 5 in the gold medal round

    Region 5 coached by Doug Welch has had 3 outstanding games, including the Friday night game that went 10 innings of flawless baseball (0-0 with no errors through the 10th inning) ending with region 5 winning 1-0..

    Doug has done a spectacular job picking his team this year with a ton of talented pitchers, fielders and catchers. Zack White, Alex Robertson, Tyler Vogler and Chris Sanders have certainly shown they have much talent and deserve looks from the coaches and scouts.

    Good luck tomorrow - Go for the Gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Region 6 won the Gold medal game by a score of 9 - 6.

    Region 6 showed it's consistent top-level play throughout the tournament. Congratulations to a great group of kids that stayed focused and played well. Contributions by all players and coaches was the key ingredient. The team had a good mix of talent, chemistry and intangibles. That was a memorable week of baseball - way to go Region 6!!

    I wish there were more highlights on how each kid performed. Just curious about a couple of friends specifically and a few others.

    it does usually come down to region 5 and region 6 to win the gold... at least the past 5-6 years. it was that way when i was there.

    He must have dug up some money he had hid those jars in his yard and went down to the new walmart and bought a computer. He sure has not been around the ballfield this summer:juggle:

    Have you ever noticed that when he removes his hand out of his pocket...dust clouds the area. Nope, Coach didn't get the nickname "alligator arms" for nothing

    History!

    from 96-99 while with region 5 we won gold once and silver twice and or bronze once so I think it is safe bet 5 has the best cum record over the history of the games! :)
