Braves - I'm here in Cary (old Cary, not the "new" Cary). Will be in Garner tonight for the Legion game most likely vs Apex.

I tell you what -- You do need to check out the new USA Baseball National Training Complex here in Cary. It's a little "out there" but it's still considered Cary. It's beautiful. The US National Team plays out there some this week I believe...

But downeast -- Beaufort is beautiful down on the waterfront. I'm partial to Kinston because I spent some time there (the area downtown/near Grainger Stadium is pretty nice). New Bern, Morehead City, Emerald Isle... great water places.

Melvin's has been bought out, and now has locations in Raleigh(Hillsboro St.), and Whiteville(maybe some other locations also).

Melvins in Elizabethtown is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7:30am-5:30 pm and there is always a line. They sell HAMBURGERS, hotdogs , chips and soft drinks and thats it. Hamburgers are 90 cents, hotdogs 70 cents and drinks are 50 cents. Inman's Red and White in E-Town furnishes the hamburger for Melvis there and often provides more than 2000 lbs a week.

My first job was at Inman's Red & White. I delivered a lot of hamburger to Melvin's, and "The Sandwich Shop" at Goldston's Beach in White Lake. My gosh what a great place, and time to be alive.

Whiteville update.....I was just given the ultimate meal in Whiteville....you get your hamburger from Ward's Grill, then you travel a half mile south to pick up your breaded fries from What-a-Burger and then another mile south to top it off with sweet tea from Joe's Barbeque.....Maybe I will try this next Saturday.
