unfortunately you are dead on in terms of last year...this year I'm hoping if anything we'll have a little better luck and better overall execution because there were at least three or four games last year we loss because of those reasons(i.e. the muffed handoff late in the Burns game and the three bad snaps against Alexander Central)...in other terms we gotta just play smarter at all times.

The biggest problem I saw with MHS is defense. They were in the right place but missed alot of tackles.

I agree...defense is something that is being focused on pretty hard in these off-season sessions. What really hurt last year was a lot of 3rd down conversion by other teams...the South Caldwell game in particular was really painful to watch...can't remember the number of times we would get the Spartans in 3rd and Long and they would get the first down.

The point I was trying to make earlier was that we still had chances to win games if it wasn't for some big time errors in crucial times of the game. Watauga and AC Reynolds were the only two games last year in which we were soundly beaten from the start.

    My 2 cents:

    1. Watauga- Only lost one specialty player(transferred)...QB's are more experienced...passing game will be better...the O line will be better...2nd year in this offense...EB

    2. AC Reynolds- new coach, right? That is big. Final at WHS(Senior night)

    3. Freedom- Defense. I think they were young.

    4. McDowell- Running back

    5. Alexander Central- We played them on their senior night. It took about 4 hours to announce all of the graduating seniors. Their JV players better be good.

    6. East Burke- Don't know much about them

    7. South Caldwell- They have to go somewhere. They lost a few players.

    I think 4, 5, 6, and 7 could be in any order.

1: A.C. Reynolds, Darius Spencer and C.J. Davis
    2: Watauga, Eric
3: Alexander, quarterback and recievers, they can spread the ball around.
    4: Mcdowell, Buggy
5: Freedom, lost a lot of players to the new school
6: East Burke, they will be decent might make some upsets
7: South Caldwell, all they have is Messer, but since he is a huge baseball player he might not play, then again he probably will.

Don't know exactlly how SC will be this year. Don't know if we have any speed at all. Will have one of the best running backs we have had in several years. Not sure if Messer will play or not. He has a lot to lose if he got injuried but he is a bulldog and will probablly want to be out there. I've also heard talk that Chavis may play this year. Can't wait to see him hit somebody. That sould be brutal.

It will be a fun race thats for sure. One thing I look at it terms of winning the title is home games.

Watauga has Alexander, ACR and McDowell at home. Watauga onlt lost one game in Boone last year, West Charlotte.
