That all depends on the position, honestly. An O lineman will need size, stregth, smarts his career TDs is never gonna get him a position over another candidate, A QB better know his football and thats more of a factor even than his size, A punter won't have to worry much about his shuttle time, it really all depends.

OK, LETS START WITH RUNNING BACKS AND DEF BACKS. I THINK THIS LIST WILL WORK SOMEWHAT FOR THEM.

AS FAR AS QB GOES THERE IS A KID AT DAVIE THAT I SAW PLAY LAST YEAR. HE IS ONE OF THE BEST PASSERS THAT I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS. HE IS AROUND 6'1". WOULD THE COLLEGES BE SHOWING MORE INTEREST IF HE WAS 6'4"? FROM WHAT I SAW OF HIM I WOULD PUT HIM UP AGAINST ANYONE ANY SIZE.

Usually they will give a look at a QB over 6-0 if he has the skills. The problem comes when you have a 5-8 or 5-9 QB that has all the talent in the world, but they won't look at him as a QB on the college level. They want to move him to DB.

IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME THAT IF YOU RUN A 4.3 40 THEN YOUR HIGH SCHOOL STATS AND SIZE ARE NOT AS BIG AN ISSUE.

I THINK THAT YOUR FOOTBALL SMARTS AND YOUR FOOTBALL SPEED AND YOUR HIGH SHOOL PRODUCTIVITY SHOULD PLAY A MAJOR FACTOR.

You hit the nail on the head with that last line. I wish more schools would look at things like that. I've seen kids that couldn't run worth a flip on a 40 time, but they put the pads on and you can't catch them. You can also tell if they know the game, they don't fit the look, but they sure know how to play the game the right way.

ONE EXAMPLE OF THAT IS QUAN WARLEY OF THOMASVILLE. HE WENT TO WESTERN CAROLINA. HE WAS THE AP PLAYER OF THE YEAR HIS JUNIOR AND SENIOR SEASON. JUST DID NOT GET LOOKED AT BY MANY D1 SCHOOLS. HE HAD GREAT STATS AT RUNNING BACK.

Grades are a huge factor as well. You take a kid with athletic potential and fabulous grades and he will definitely be much more sought after because of his smarts. Colleges love size and speed. You can't coach either one of those. A kid just has to be born with it and most coaches in college are arrogant enough to always think they can take a average player with size and speed and turn him into something special. This happens an awful lot sometimes too because a kid that has tremendous size almost always develops slower than other players because they have to grow into their bodies.
