No. 1 should be North Davidson I don't think they lost many.
I will put us South Caldwell at about no. 8
That is about all I know of at this time not real sure what everyone lost this year

    Rankings

Whatever the rankings, Richmond Cty. will be in the top 10 somewhere. Quite possibly the top team in the east...

**Hoggard and Laney could be darkhorses later in the year as far as the eastern side of the state...they're very young

**Fuquay Varina should be pretty good as well.

Who all does S. Caldwell lose? b/c from what I saw at the state tourney, you take Messer or Bumgarner off the mound and they're not even close to a top 10 team...just my opinion

You got to be kidding me. SC mercy ruled the best from the east for the state championship and Messer wasn't even hitting. Someone had to score those runs and make the plays on defense.
With that said SC did lose the majority of their starters. Messer will be back and so will Chavis who hit the bomb over the left field fence. The thing about SC is they hardly ever have to rebuild the just reload every year. Next year we will be down a little but still will contend for a conference title and a run in the playoffs. Do I think we will have a team to win it all? No but they will win a lot of games. I'm not exactly sure of the exact number but SC has made the state playoffs something like 18 straight years.

SC mercy ruled Ashley in one game, not the first game. Ashley was one play away from winning that one.

    Facts / Opinions

Trust me, you did not see SC hit the ball as a team like they were capable, it was hot and cold like that all year, just not as consistent as in years past with this group, however they did not let it slip through this year. This years path through the playoffs was an extremely tough one, SC the NW4A #1 seed did not have a weak opponent in any round, while their performance in every game may not have been as dominating as in others, they definitely earned the state title and were the best team in the state.

This group from SC, the class of 2007 has done some great things over the years, most of which, believe it or not, did not include Madison Bumgarner. Example: In 2005 SC was the first High School JV team to be entered into the American Legion "B" division, most scoffed at the initial divisional meetings asking if we were sure that we wanted to do this...this ain't school ball, this is legion... We believed in how special this group was, and they finished the season 24-2, 2005 NC American Legion "B-Division" State Champs!

In response to your opinion...While I feel that every team earns their way to the dance, I will give you an opinion of mine... Yours was based on seeing SC for 2 games, so this one is based on the same 2 games...From what I saw of Ashley they would not have made it past the first round in the West given the same path that SC had to take. Now take that for what it is worth, an opinion based on 2 games, I still feel that Ashley earned their way through the East and was the state runner up. I simply stated this opinion and scenario to make a point, teams have good games and bad games, players have good games and bad games, one or two players do not make up a team, and you should trust the system, it gives you the state champ every year.

As far as next year, SC will not be as strong, but they will be solid and fundamentally sound, don't count them out of anything.

In the West, I feel that North Davidson will be the team to beat in 2008.
