I'm flattered, but I can't see politics in my future.

I also agree with Braves ---- Ban the term "tools of ignorance" Call them the "tools of charisma" or even better the "TOOLS OF LEADERSHIP" OOOh I like that one.

He got out from behind the ski boat last Saturday to come out and see if the legion team had killed his grass yet at the HS. He found it just like he left it.

    1. Courtesy runners are good b/c they speed up the game and allow more kids to be a part.

    2. Re-entry allows more kids to play and without it there would be less substitution as stated above.

    3. Without the 10 run-rule some games would take forever and some teams would get embarrassed more than they do now.

    4. Having an impartial scorekeeper would cost more money b/c you would have to pay them but is a very good idea for stat purposes b/c alot of these batting averages I've seen lately are very inflated in some instances.

    5. I don't see many un-used dates here in the east without starting earlier or playing 4-5 games a week.

    6. It would not be fair to align a 2A team against a 4A team. Just not fair. Yes some conferences are weaker than others but so are some college conferences and some divisions in major league baseball.

    7. Like they said above, pitchers in high school are usually your better hitters so let more kids be involved in the game.

    8. There's pros and cons to it. Most have already been said.

    9nine9....

I'd like to be your running mate. Since there will need to be some "brains" in office and I was a pitcher, I should qualify!!:laugh4:

Are these actual rule changes or just a wish list? I like many of them.

No courtesy runners. Running for the catcher with 2 outs speeds up the game but that's it. I'm a little partial on this one. My son pitches and catches. We added a wide receiver to the team that had not played baseball and in 4 years and his sole job was to run for my son. Hell, he could come to practice without his glove and bat. It worked out because my son was on base a lot. Evcerytime he got on base we trot out this kid that could steal and never had to slide.

    No DH

No 10 run rule. Why stop at 5 innings? Just play other kids.

I could go either way on re-entry.

We need a ten-run rule. Until you've had to play conference games against teams like Atkins, Lexington High, etc, you won't understand.

Our JV beat Salisbury something like 36-1 last year. It was horrible, and they weren't trying to run the score up but you can only do so much without ruining swings, etc.

    Rule #6

    SuperJon,
Maybe you'd like to institute my Rule #6 so you don't have to play the teams you beat 24-0 anymore? If the conferences were done correctly you would have a need for a 10-run rule anymore.

My two points were 1. the coaches and players put in too much time to play a 24 game schedule and 2. Let's match up the competition so we don't have the mismatches anymore. I think the teams that are getting 10-runned twice a week would be in favor of it too!

I think there's no use in changing up the conferences. It's not fair. A down year for a 4A is not nearly as bad as a down year for your average 2A. There are some years where a 1A or 2A could compete in a 3A/4A conference, but most years, they can't.

    How about

realistic rule changes guys. Seed the playoffs!! No more predetermined seeding based on conferences.

How about 2-3 every round of the playoffs?

Expand the regular season to those wanting to play more games.

If you think 24 is enough then only schedule 24. If you would like to play 34 then allow those schools to play 34.

Allow for no 10 run rule if the coaches agree before the game to not have it.

Make it a rule that all DH's must still be 7 inning games. Five inning games stink.

Quit with the off season junk. The dead periods etc. If a kid wants to hit or throw or work out after school instead of going home and sitting on his butt how can that be a bad thing??? If they want to play another sport they are going to play another sport. And if they dont want to they are not going to.
