Lexington was leading Stanly 8-5 in the bottom of the 8th and they hit back to back to back homeruns to help put the game out of reach. Final was 13-5. The Rowan vs. Lexington series is going to be tightly contested.

    Mocksville pitching

I thought Ryan Carter was a 15 yr old. Is that not strange pitching on such little rest and pitching in such a crucial game? How about the wrist injury. How did that occur? What pitchers has Mocksville used in this series? Also who/whom is available to pitch? What are your predictions on the outcome? Does Mocksville choke?

I heard during the bottom of the 9th last nite Mocksville was out of pitchers and that was why they didnt change last nite, Who will pitch for Post 51 I saw Keith Carrigan warming up last nite after pitching 4 innings on Tuesday also Cody Walker pitched 9.2 strong innings on Monday, and Dempsey was pitching good until he had to be taken out due to some weird circumstances last nite. It would seem like Concord is in a better situation pitching wise but we will see tonite i guess.

Carter is a 15 year old, but he has been in pressure situations this past season in high school. He had a win against West Forsyth, started the CPC championship game and basically shut-out East Rowan in the state playoffs (1 unearned run in bottom of 7th).
His wrist was injured about 2 weeks ago, and was re-aggravated Tuesday night when a Concord player drilled one back at him, but his dad told me last night that he is fine now. He was coming in the game last night but the coach elected to go with King instead.
As far as Mocksville pitching, they were not out last night, just bad timing on subs and limited subs. Starting shortstop is out with injury, Tom Kuell is sick and Brad Corriher is gone. McDaniel can pitch if necessary, Carter only has 4 innings this week, and Justin Moody and Justin Kidd only has a few in this week. But as CC said, we'll see tonight :munching_out:

I would be shocked if McDaniel does not pitch for Mocksville tonight.

    Bad News for Kernersville

Bad News for the #2 seed Kernersville....they will be losing Kenny Swab for the rest of the season (He will play on Sunday, but that will be his last game for Kernersville unless they advance a lot farther). Kenny has a hernia and will be having surgery on Monday....he is having this done so he will not miss any time at Young Harris when he starts there on August 20th. Please pray for him and his family and pray for his surgery and that he returns 100%. Kenny left his mark in Kernersville this year and I am glad that he has his head on straight and he has many bright years ahead of him

    Prayin for ya Kenny!!

Congrats to Concord,,,,, must say a surprise the way Mocksville finished the regular season strong, but I gotta tip the hat to my fellow Cabarrus County boys.

So am I correct, Concord will face South Rowan in Round 2? If so, that would be a series between 2 locals who are both playing well, albeit Concord pitching arms may be tired right now with only 1 day rest before Sunday's start.

I'd like to give some props to Burlington Post 63. They started out very slow this summer but all good legion programs know how to win when it counts. congrats
