    The Gaston Braves beat Caldwell tonight 7-4 at SPHS.

    W- Connor
    L- Berry

    other pitchers- Horne for GB, Poarch for CC.
    Coffey- HR for CC

    Series tied 1-1 with game 3 tomorrow night in Granite Falls.

    Shelby vs. Union County

    There were errors, hits, and excitement all night in Shelby. Shelby went up early 3-0 by the third inning. But then Union County ran off 6 unanswered runs in the 4th and 5th, and eventually had a 9-6 lead going to the bottom of the 7th. Shelby scored 4 runs in the 7th inning and wound up winning 10-9. There were about 30 total hits and 7 errors combined. The series is tied at 1 a piece heading to Union County tomorrow night. Breat Wease got the win for Shelby.

    WP - Josh Barker

    3 consecutive 2 out hits in the top of 11th capped
    by game winning RBI by Josh Barker evens the series
    at 1-1. Game 3 Saturday night at Myers Park High School.

    Gastonia Post 23 7 10 innings

    Clay Smith hits a two out, two run HR in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game for Hickory. John Daly knocks in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th to even the series 1-1. Hickory had 16 hits in the win.

    Next game is Saturday at 4:00 at Sims Field in Gastonia.
