    metal are way better

In my opinion metal cleats are ten times better than rubber cleats. You get so much more traction on the field. I can tell a huge difference when I wear metal as opposed to when I'm wearing rubber. It's the difference between being out and safe in some situations. I never wore metal cleats until I got to college, and it was a very new experience. Ask Coach Dobbins about it, I'm sure he's got some funny memories that involve me falling on my face while learning to run in them. But once you get past the embarrassment, the benefits are tremendous.

As for the people who are concerned with the injuries....

Yeah it hurts to get cleated with metal cleats, but getting cleated by someone wearing rubber doesn't feel that good either. A player that has the intent to hurt another by sliding into them isn't going to be concerned whether or not they are wearing metal or rubber cleats. If they are going to do it, they will do it regardless. Hopefully the girls are playing the sport for other reasons than trying to "take out" the other player.

All in all metal cleats are better...ask anyone who has used rubber and switched to metal...

    Yes For Metal Cleats

As a parent of a Daughter who suffered not 1 but 2 different serious knee injuries in High School wearing Rubber Cleats and slipping on wet terrain.
I do think it will only become safer with the use of Metal Cleats.
I have experienced and seen many Kids slip on the damp bases over the Years. I am certain that Metal Cleats will Help Prevent this type of injury.
There will be a need for our HS and TB Caches to Practice and Train the ladies in the use of the metal cleats and this is what a Good Coach will do.
I do think most of our coaches are very familiar with the differences the girls will be experiencing during the transition to metal as most of them have worn both.
I guess I am more worried about the possible injury that a girl may experience walking into Brugers on tile floors wearing her metal cleats than I am worried about her getting cleated covering home.
If you have ever seen Mister Cocky clicking into mickey D's and going feet first upside down with his egg mcmuffin on his head you can appreciate that experience. He He .

With that said I am sure we will see more girls in Flops after practice and games instead of wearing thier cleats all day at the ball field.

We all need to be sure that The Ones teaching and training our Young ladies are held accountable for making this a safe improvement to the Game.

If TB follows suit, where should the age cut-off be for metal cleats? I would think 16U.

    thats my guess too

I think 16u is where it will be IF the TB sanctions go with it. If HS does I hope they are quick to follow but only if HS does.

    APPROVED

Metal cleats have been approved by the NCHSAA So has the metal pitching toe. It is optional so players can still use rubber cleats if they want to.
