    who is the Durham coach?

    Saw Durham whoop up on Benson couple weeks ago. Durham looked darn good, jacking out several homers that night.

    Garner-Durham Game 2 was "Lightning'd" out tonight.

    Will try again tomorrow night, 7pm in Garner.

    Game 2 in Garner is rained out.

    Visiting at the Junior States in Cherryville. This should be a barn burner in Garner. So far Cauldwell is in and Cherryville is looking to get in tonight. Area three looks like Rowan is in and maybe S. Rowan. These teams are always strong and travel extremely well.

    Garner 2

    Game 3 back in Durham 7/29 at the old DAP 7pm.

    Man, that game was ugly last night in Garner. Post 232 looked good early but what happened? All of a sudden they couldn't field a bunt and saw several pitches find the backstop.

    Oh well... :thumbsdown:


    Game 3 tonight in Durham. I'd imagine Post 7 will close it out. Winner of this series will face Wayne County for the Area I Title.

    McDaniel was sharp early, but his pitch count was up before the 5th. That, coupled with the fact that the catcher for 232 was having a tough time handling McDaniel, sent several balls to the backstop, although several of those were not his fault.
    I don't know why 232 was having trouble with bunts, but both teams struggled with routine throws- probably due to the fact the field was drenched- any balls hit in the infield were an adventure.
    The turning point from my perspective was when the Durham pitcher threw the comebacker over the first baseman's head with 2 outs in the 2nd to score 232's last run. Seemed to make him mad enough to start pitching well.

    You're right.

    I forgot about the field conditions. Man it was nasty out there. When I got to the field and saw the delay, I couldn't believe it. I drove through sunny skies all the way to the ballpark and then saw a soaked ballpark.

    Anyways, Post 7's pitcher was tough. Is he the kid going to Lenoir-Rhyne?

    Not sure who Garner will throw tonight. Jonny Wholestaff more than likely since it's an elimination game.
