    Bonds...

is out! Never runs anything is out the only reason he is nad has been playing is for the glory of the record... Too sad he is not like his Daddy Bobbie...now I admired him greatly, and definitely a "player" stud!

Do think it could be said any better.......

A day after Barry Bonds called him a "little midget man who knows (nothing) about baseball," broadcaster Bob Costas said he wasn't upset with the San Francisco Giants slugger and responded with a jab of his own.

"As anyone can plainly see, I'm 5-6 1/2 and a strapping 150, and unlike some people, I came by all of it naturally," Costas said Thursday in a telephone interview.

"I've actually always had a pretty cordial relationship with Barry," Costas said. "I have no ill feelings toward him personally. I regard him as one of the greatest players of all time who got an inauthentic boost and then became a superhuman player. I wish him no ill whatsoever.":hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

Bonds is definitely the best and most-feared hitter of his era, but like others have said, I cannot pull for him because he is a jerk first and foremost. I never like to see "me guys" succeed. Players who are arrogant, self-centered, and that disrespect the game make me sick. Even if he hadn't ever juiced, I still wouldn't want him to own that hallowed record of Aaron's. Add the overwhelming evidence against him on steroids and you have not only an egotist but a man very much lacking in integrity. Maybe I'm just hard core old school, but a player like Bonds is a disgrace BECAUSE of his talent. As talented as he is, he could have possibly broken the record legitimately (who knows?) and if he respected the game, maybe the baseball gods would have granted him a ring and not just the HR mark.

    Last night's game......

Did anyone see John Lovitz comedian/actor and the tirade he went on for about 10 minutes of ESPN's broadcast. Erin Andrews, I think was in shock, all Joe Morgan could say was, hmmmmm.....well. (His usual) And I think Chris Berman was wanting to run down there and shake his hand. While it might not have been phrased the most eloquently and tactfully, I don't know that anyone could have said it better.

Well like him or hate him, we have just witnessed history and still 1 more HR to go to have it for himself.

    Howard??

I'm a Philies and Howard fan but no way. Howard will be 28 in November. Maybe if he could average 100 homers a year, he could make up for all those seasons spent in the minors.

He could give it a run if he stays healthy. He currently has 112 HR's in his career to this point. If he plays til he is 40 and maybe beyond, and averages between 45-50 HR's a year(which is a number he can do), then that will put him real close to it. He could go one season and hit 65 or more HR's, its not out of the question. I'm not saying he will but given the numbers he has already put up, he could defianlty give the record a run for its money.

I liked how Barry was doing everything but hugging his son. His son stood there hugging him and he never once acknowledged him. Very selfish of Bonds not to even hug his son, though he would hug his son after the first 755 HR's. He wanted all the fame for himself and he got it and didn't want to share it with anybody. What a shame...
