    new format

for MLB this year. With the new dead line and no one wanting to be the sacrificial lamb for going over slot money is probably the reason for the hold up. but if SF decides not to pay a fair price then madison has the option to go to juco and come out next year in the running for the #1 draft choice. The figure I heard was definitly under slot. So now we wait and see what SF will come up to. "Fair" should be close to what the #10 draft choices have gotten in the past and remember there is a big difference between 1st & 10th place money so juco is not a bad choice if the price is not right.

I here he wanted to go back to high school....so he bribed the NC Board and he has signed his letter of intent to pitch his second senior year at Watauga. Congrats to Madison and his family.

I personally would like to welcome him on behalf of the Watauga Baseball team. Think he will make the starting rotation?

To name a couple, Roger Clemens, and Andy Pettitte. Maybe they do pretty good with pitchers. I don't blame him. One and done might be better than waiting 3 years, and from what I understand next year's draft is going to be rather light in the pitching position, according to the "experts"

I don't know about that, you guys are pretty stacked, and you know Coach Hardee, he'll get more out of each of you.

I hear there's a $500,000 gap between what he's asking and what has been offered. If he holds out and goes to San Jacinto, he goes back into the draft next year. If he had gone to Carolina, he is stuck until he's 21 or his JR year... (more of a risk)... He's doing what he can to offer himself more leverage, but aren't the salaries/bonuses pretty much set by draft choice and don't substantial differences from this have to be approved by the commissioner's office??? Do you think the commissioner's office will allow a team to go up 500,000?

i got the impression they were offering 500,000 less than #10 got last year. not that he wanted more. is that not what nc baseball fan was saying
