Independence High's appearance in a national football event on Sept. 1 will be available live on the Internet.

The Patriots, who have won 108 straight games, will play Cincinnati's Elder High at 7:45 p.m. in the Burger King/Kirk Herbstreit Ohio vs. USA Challenge.

For $7.95, viewers can see the Independence game, and hear the public-address announcers and game sounds by signing up at ohiovsusa.com. All four games in Cincinnati that day can be viewed for $17.95.

The two-day tournament, to be in Cincinnati and Canton, Ohio, will match 11 Ohio high school teams against nationally ranked opponents.

Independence's streak is the second-longest in U.S. history, and best by a public school. The Patriots haven't lost since September 2000.

Independence will open the regular season Aug. 24 at Olympic.

The Cincinnati St. Xavier vs. DeMatha (Md.) game will air live at noon Sept. 2 on ESPN, and the Northmont vs. Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic game will follow at approximately 3:30, live on ESPNU.

Dang you Elder. Well at least Crest is the last NC team to beat Indy. There are some teams out there that could put an end to the state championship streak this year if Indy isn't ready.

I don't think spanked is the right word for their loss!
Not a Indy fan but give them some credit, they should have won the game they just got complacent from what I've been told....I wouldn't be wanting them anytime soon!

spanked? an overtime loss is HARDLY getting spanked.
