Congrats to the Mountaineers on the upset of the season. With success should bring more $$$ for the school as a whole.

Agree Plate Dad.....App should get some National "Props" that they rightly deserve....

I hated the way a couple of the announcers tried to play it off as Michigan just not being the team everyone thought other than giving APP their due.:rolleyes5:

I heard that to. App was going into a get down played from the start. Also ECU almost did the same. VT did not look that good.

    Here's the deal...

There is no way a team in the Championship Division (fmr I-AA) should compete with, much less defeat the #5 team on the road. That's a fact!!

The fact is that App played the better game when it counted. They are National Champions, but we are still talking about a BIG TEN team. The Mountaineer players wanted the game more, and quite frankly for the most part Michigan looked lackadasical on the field. I couldnt be more proud of a team with what ranks in the upset world with Chaminade's defeat of UVA (during the Ralph Sampson era) in college basketball. For those of you too young for that, I remember Chaminade being a Division II school defeating UVA, who I recall was ranked #1 in the Country in what is now the Maui Classic.

This should help get even more money in for their facility upgrades at App.

As my wife is an L-R "Bare" southern pronounciation-please... and I am a former Boone Goon, I have decided not to inform her of this historical clash of football gods. We will just have to catch the highlights on ESPN 8 (the ocho)

Does'nt Coach Hardy get inducted into the HOF this weekend. Is it prior to the game or will it be at half time?

It is a crying shame that sports announcers cannot give these players the credit they deserve. No matter how you shake it, Michigan was beaten. There was no Fluke. If you were to add the dropped pass, and the field goal, it would have been a major whooping.
During all the ESPN talks & commentaries, these guys were more concerned about Lloyd Carr keeping his job. It came across as "how dare they come into the "Big House" and beat Michigan".

I still can't imagine the pressure playing in front of 109,000 people, WOW!

Congrats to the Mountaineers! You deserve all the credit for this one.
Perhaps now they can draw some those teams up the mountain, NAH, probably to scared now.

    Congrats to App State

I read today that App State got 400,000.00 for playing the game. The big benefit for App State is in recruiting. And in name recognition for the school. Now everyone knows who they are where they are from and what they are about. Everyone!!! Who ever heard of Chaminade before they beat UVA and Ralph Sampson? But now all you have to do is mention the name and everyone knows who they are and where they are from. App State will now be able to walk in a young mans house and talk about football with even more credibility as a program than ever. In fact they will get contacted by kids that they would have never been contacted by before. This is huge for App State football. And this is also huge in a negative way for all the other schools they compete against for players. You may see some fringe UNC NC State Wake players now consider App State first instead of these schools. Two National Titles back to back. And first week of the college football season at the Big House and win it the way they won it. They played with great heart and emotion. But they also showed they have some serious athletes and tremendous football players. It was no fluke. You dont go to Michigan and win without having talent and being well coached. How many ACC teams have ever won on this type of stage before? Huge win. No bigger than that. Congrats!!!
