Maybe too soon! Jordan will be team to beat again!

The outstanding young players at Riverside do not have the Varsity experience that some Pac 6 teams do. 2008 maybe too soon but if the core group of young players handles the presure watch out. No doubt in 2009 they will be the team to beat!

In 2008 the 3 top teams should be Jordan, Chapel Hill & Riverside.
I believe Jordan lead by Steele Myers and Lee Murray will finish 1st again. Chapel Hill lead by Bill Sanders and experienced pitching will finish 2nd. Riverside will finish 3rd possible higher. The next 3 teams are East Chapel Hill, Person and Northern a coin toss could seperate there final standings. East Chapel Hill has alot of young players With Varisty experience . Northern Durham with Craig Farmer and Bryan Bass could be a spoiler. Roxboro has Jeremy Peed who could beat anyone on the mound on any night of the week. Southern and Hillside are up and coming but probally will not be a contender this year.

Northern Durham more than just a spoiler!

Northern Durham will be more than a spoiler in ther Pac-6 this year! Bryan Bass and Craig Farmer are not the only players they have. Northern Durham in 2008 will return ALL 9 STARTERS from last years playoff team. 4 Knights Tyler Robinson, Travis Horn, Bass and Farmer are all returning All Conferance players.

New Coach Pete Shankle led Northern Durham to the State Playoffs in 2007 for the 1st time in years. Remember Northern Durham only lost in the State Playoffs AT North Davidson 3-1. North Davidson was only 1 game from winning a State Championship last year. A Pete Shankle coached team can never be under estimated.

The Pac-6 should again be very exciting this year. There are about 6 teams that could end up at the top when the smoke clears!

The PAC-6 will definitely be a competitive league this season. there are some pretty darn good players in the league that will make for some good games. Just like last year it will come down to the last week of the season!! Just remember there are teams that have several veteran players, and that does factor into the picture when looking at who may finish where...

PAC-6 not so easy to call.

There is parity in the PAC-6.

Durham Jordan should be the favorite, talent, experience and some young guns. Coach Bell and Coach Hall are two fine coaches and just awesome people.

East Chapel Hill will do well. They finished second in their division in the summer league, making the playoffs. The only PAC-6 team to do so of the four teams that played in the league.

Northern will be loaded and experienced, but remember they finished 5th last year in the PAC-6 and made the playoffs in the 64 team expanded field.

Riverside always has talented hitters and they return a couple of good pitchers.

Chapel Hill will be in the hunt. Coach Miller is always there in the end.

Person will fight to the end. These guys are always scrappy.

Hillside and Southern Durham will have very little to bring to the table.

    PAC-6

It should be a very competitive year just like last year. To me there is no clear cut favorite. There are only two teams you can bet will not win it and will not factor in who does. Southern Durham and Hillside. Outside of those two teams anyone can win this league.

One thing you can not "unfortunately" use as a feather in your cap anymore is making the playoffs. Heck who doesnt? The fact is there was a time when making the playoffs was an accomplishment in itself. Now making the playoffs is a given for any team that can show up and field a team.

If you dont make the playoffs, plain and simple, you have not had a good year at all...

I believe that Riverside will win the Pac 6 in 2008. The Pirates will have the strongest pitching staff in the conferance. Jordan lost Madden, Turner, Williams and Slitz there 4 top pitchers from last year.
