Young Blood vs Good Ole Boys

No one cares what field you play on, the coaches come see the players that have contacted them. When the fields are that close noone minds the nice walk.

But it sounds like it is more about filling the pockets of the directors as opposed to watching the most marketable players play against each other. That is why the larger showcases have so much attention cause when they go see these players play they know that will see them being challenged against the best players from everywhere. I watched some of the Good Ole Boys games at the upper complex and actually saw just as good if not better pitching and hitting on the lower.

As time progresses, everyone stops buy the name brand and starts buying quality.

Everyone knows who the quality players are and who they play for just because you are a organizaton with many teams don't mean you have the best team. I know the Cobras and the Lady Lightning have had only one team for the last 5 years and have one as many State titles and has played as many competitive teams in that time frame.

Put quality against quality not hype of a name. Name brands loose there luster over time. Sounds like the time has come.

This is true. We played in this showcase 2 years ago and my DD who plays DII ball now was seen at this showcase by a coach we had contacted previously. Market heavily for yourself and don't depend on anyone else.

Also a lot of college coaches are practicing now. I know my DD practiced on Sat. with her college team. I suggest moving this showcase back 2 or 3 weeks. College coaches are busy getting their own teams ready right now.

Superfusion last weekend in September 28-30 at the Rock. Come on down. Maybe they'll let you set up a tent like at Burlington and give us a gathering spot. I'll bring mine and set up beside of it and we'll have a high ole time. Lots of teams going to be there and maybe we can even recruit some new faces. And of course Guru and Ldfordguy's buying lunch:punk:

So when are your dues paid in full?

So when does this happen? When you get hooked up with an organization that has a minimum of four age groups? When you travel to the nationals for a minimum of three years in a row? What are the requirements for paying your dues in the travel arena? Who sets these requirements other than the ones who are putting on the tournaments and who were obviously given the opportunity to show their skills against the better teams by some other director at some time in the past. Please post these requirements so that we may begin to fulfill them since spending the last summers in front of some of the best schools in the nation is obviously not on the list.:arge:

Ken Bailey puts on some nice tournaments and has for quite a while. We all appreciate the work Ken and his lovely wife have done for softball.

    Paying Dues

Can remember saying pretty much same thing couple of years ago myself. Get in Dynamites, Hot Times, etc, do the Qualifiers, go to the nationals. While in the Showcases, when it goes to elimination rounds , go as deep as you can. When your coach sends in application, have him request to play the top teams. Once you start playing , & beating the highly competitive teams, coaches will be watching, putting your team on their list as teams to watch. This process does take time, but can be done without being in a large organization. Play hard wherever field your on, win as many games as you can, but play as tough a schedule as you can, & it will happen. If a coach is interested in your DD, they will come watch, no matter what field your on.
I know the organizations use this ," we always play on field 1, so this will get your DD seen more, so come & play with us." This always lures them away from their teams. Now it's the Gold thing, play gold get seen more. I think I might start a platnium division next, & scrimmage the olympic team !!! Go Blues Gold !!!
