Don't know anything more than what's been reported. Do know he's an excellent coach and Concord will miss him big time. As a fan, I'll miss seeing the way his teams played good fundamental ball, tough defense, and moved the ball. Anyone know the details?

I don't know for sure but I heard somewhere that he violated the skill development guidelines and was non-compliant with the dead period.

Losing Poplin will for sure hurt Concord basketball, he was a great basketball-mind. Will they get to keep their state championship banners?

He did violate the rules for dead periods, but I don't think it was too serious.

Rumor I heard was that the AD at Concord who is also the girls basketball coach pretty much forced him out because she's jealous that he's had more success than her. I don't know that for sure, but from what I've heard about her, it doesn't sound unbelievable.

She's passionate about all her sports from what I've seen so would hope that's not true - for the sake of the kids, I hope the new boys bball coach is a good one - did hear the girls hoops team will be a force to be reckoned with.
