Glad to see Wake getting some of the local talent! Most recently Eli Robins (LHP Glenn 07) and now Zach. I have heard that other local players wanting to join that program!

Daniel Marrs high school teammate Austin Stadler is coming to Wake as well. Shaping up to be a great class.

Congratulations to Zach White and his family

In my opinion, the best 2008 pitcher Wake Forest has signed so far is Mike Dimock. They have a great class of pitchers coming in.

^^^I hope you are correct, because if Mike is better than Zach, the Deacs are heading to Omaha! It's always about pitching, ya know.

Haha, Oh I agree. I'm not at all saying that White isn't good. My last post was meant strictly as a compliment for Dimock.

I got a chance to see White face off against Dimock a couple weeks back at Appalachian when the Dirtbags played the North Carolina Baseball Academy.

These two started on the mound against each other and threw 4 innings each. After the first four innings, Dimock's NCBA team was beating White's Dirtbags 5-1. And also Dimock was probably facing better hitters, as the Dirtbags lineup is more highly touted than NCBA's.

Dimock sat 90-91 the whole way with excellent command of his fastball, curve ball, changeup, and slider. Outside of the Dirtbags top 3 hitters (Hanover, Litwin, Myers) nobody really made solid contact off of him at all.

I'm excited about Wake Forest's pitching staff the next few years.

^^Tman, appreciate your response, & I have no doubt you are accurate.

But I'll say this in Zach's defense: He's not a September kind of guy. Instead he's in-season tough: the more he pitches, the nastier his off speed is. His out pitch is not his fastball, although both his 2 & 4 seamers have good movement. It always seems to me that when he's well rested, he works up too much. He's most dangerous when he's grinding.

Again, I'm a Deac fan for sure. A year from now (when my son's team has an off day) I'll be spending alot of time at Ernie Shore field (future home of WFU).
