During a tournament a couple of years ago we were playing a team that we laid down a bunt and scored a homerun because of (3) throwing errors committed by the defensive team. Talk about excitement, everybody in the surrounding fields could here us yelling with vigor, and came over to see what was going on that was causing such an uproar.

---- Tell your memorable moment !!!

We were playing an "A" team in morganton or thomasville, facing their best pitcher, my dd (slowest feet on the team) had bunted and made it to first on an error, next batter was Laronda McClain (wingate) who proceed to bounce one off the right field fence. needless to say, RaRa caught up to Morgan halfway between second and third and was inches behind Mo the rest of the way trying not to touch her but yelling for her to get the lead out of her a$$ and move it. everyone died laughing. 5'11" flamester pushing a 5'0" pitcher around the bases. would also like to say next at bat, RaRa belted a line shot that landed in the middle of the next ball field, probably about 320-340', her first homerun as a lefty/slapper; needless to say, we won that event.

    Late Sunday Game

We were playing in a tournament in Salisbury several years ago. Our team got in the losers bracket early and had play all day on Sunday. The weather was cool and it was drizziling rain when the championship game started. If we won the first game we would have to play another game to win championship. We won the first game. It was about 7pm and light rain was still falling. The other team wanted to flip coins for the championship. Our team said "no way" we are going to win or lose this one fair and square. We played the second game and won. The opposing team was so upset that they wouldn't go to the trophy presentation.

    No Question

My daughter Caroline was playing an ex-coach and ex-teamate, neither very nice, and hit a 2-run HR that measured maybe 235-240'.

It was good news, bad news, good news kind of thing...

She hit the HR to put us up 2-0 :4:, We lost the game 3-2 :bigcry:, and after that game I met and developed a great friendship with Robert Miller after his daughter topped the HR with a shot that measured 240' on her own :laugh3:.

    Never forget that moment....

    Easy one....

It would be incredibly hard to pick just one, but I'll go with....
The first homerun my dd ever hit, as a five year old, in her 1st game ever, in 8 & U! She has hit a lot of homeruns in all her years, but it is hard to beat that very 1st one! Millions of memories and wonderful moments later, she is now a freshman in college, on a softball scholarship, I can't wait for the next memorable moment! :munching_out: Who would have ever thought, back at that 1st game, that she would get paid to go to college and play the sport that she LOVES! This really is a great country!:patriot::clap:

    GREAT THREAD GURU, GREAT THREAD!

    Our daughter's first college homerun.
My dad was ill, so the family was not able to go to the tournament in Aiken, SC. He always enjoyed watching her play and she wanted to hit a homerun for him.
Sarah called after their game to tell us she had hit a grand slam for her PapPaw. It was her gift to him and something I will never forget.

    from rec ball

was coaching a 12u rec team a few yr's back. our pitcher and a couple of infielders combined on a legitimate triple-play.

another was another 12u team I coached that was mostly 11's. we had lost only 2 games in the regular season, both to a team of mostly 12's that mercy-ruled us both times and they went undefeated. came to the championship game of the single-elimination post-season tournament and it was us against them again.
we won something like 7-1 for the championship...............needless to say a happy bunch of "young" girls.

    those were the days.

    memorable moments

I saw an unusual play at a Butler vs. Independence JV game several years ago. A runner was between third and home when an incoming throw hit the top of her batting helmet, bounced forward into the catcher's glove on the fly and the catcher made the tag.

For me in regard to my oldest daughter, Tabatha, it would be a tough choice between a trio of threes:

Hitting three over the fence home runs in a row at a Myrtle Beach tournament (two in the same inning) in a 10-under game. (slow pitch days)

Winning three of three NSA and USSSA national home run derbys at the World Series (slow pitch).

Three home runs for Crestdale Middle School in one game (not over the fence, but still legit)

For my youngest daughter, Kim, it would be between:

Hitting her first over the fence home run in a tournament and reaching 62 MPH for the first time in the same game at barely 15 years old.

Striking out the first nine batters of the Tennessee state champs at a World Series game

Three no-hitters in a row for Crestdale Middle School

Being a part of the 2005 Butler NC 4A State Championship team as a freshman. She was only used as a runner but it was still a thrill.
