With only 11.7 scholarships, the situation in baseball is so different than football and basketball. I've even heard of the student managers on the football team at my son's school getting more money than most of the baseball players...and we're talking about a top 25 program year end and year out.

Next year's rules, if ratified, are even more unrealistic with every player receiving at least 33%. Forget about having the money to recruit the top out of state prospects. The state schools just don't have the academic money available that the private schools have to supplement the baseball money.

As far as transferring is concerned, it just isn't fair to require a player to sit out year when they're getting anything less than a 100%.

So will these changes make it more attractive for D3 schools? By that I mean the ton of money usually available for kids with good grades.
