    East Burke by 50

    Mcdowell by 1 1/2

Freedom and South Caldwell let the bands battle it out.

......because it doesn't really matter until the games have been played.

first of all oldref you need to chill out because unless you are in the football circle of freedom you dont know whats going on. im pretty sure by your comments you arent and judging by the way you talk about this kids as"gutless" you need to take a step back a reitterate a little- what you see with your eyes may not tell the whole story.
secondly- this late in the season homecoming isnt a slap in the face to watauga. no one wants to have homecoming in september its too early. maybe east burke just picked a game at home that worked with all the other sports schedules. if they were going to pick a so called "easy game" like everyone else they would have picked my titans- weve already played 2 homecomings.
thirdly-i know this is a varsity post and goodluck to the titans in asheville tonight- but on a positive it was refreshing to see the titan jv's pull out a ot win last night against the reynolds rockets. was a great game and kudos to both teams thats how a football game is supposed to be played.

I did not say a thing about homecoming being a slap in the face. Your are right about me being so hard on the Patriots, But I coached High School football in SC for a number of years and Div.1AA for a several years before getting a job with a great sporting goods company. So I do know a little about the game, not to mention that I called High School football in the Western NC for a number of years. I am retired now and enjoy watching my grandkids and local kids play. Yes I should not have said "gutless" but the fact is there are a few good coachs at Freedom and I just don't buy into what a couple of my friends are saying. I sit in the stands and listen to the junk that, some of the so-called fans say and it just don't add up. Now I go on the info that the kids tell me. That does not excuse my words and your right on that. I wonder just how much support they really get at Freedom, from the Parents, AD dept. and Administration. My grandson has made comments that everyone in power seems not to really care and the only time they see any of them, it's a token "We Care, and I'm Late-Gotta Go - See Ya". But anyway Your Right On the "Gutless" but then again the team shows no care about playing tough or together.

Applete- I hope your kidding with those picks.

footballfever181- I agree with the WHS prediction. We could lose but it aint gon be by 17 and we can win but it aint gon be by 17. Although this isn't a slap in the face to play their homecoming. Number one this is their only home game after October. Who wants homecoming in september. Second, this is also their senior night because they have two road games and an open date. So this is there only hope. However it will be fun to ruin homecoming.

This thing about McDowell beating Reynolds is hilarious. like footballfever said how many times are you going to pick McDowell against quality teams before you realize that Kincaid is all they have and he can't do it alone. Yeah McDowell plays hard, AC Reynolds plays hard (and has more talent).

I just choose not to get worked up about scores when the games have not been played yet. Nor can I control the outcome.

The real fun will be for EB to ruin Watauga's shot at the conference title:hihi: It should be a good game if the two teams show up with their "A" game.

Citizen times article on the mcdowell acr game

    http://www.citizen-times.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200771012130

some notable items from the article

spencer had 6 tds, two short of tying the record. He was pulled in the 3rd quarter

kincaid did not pick up postive yards until his fourth carry

kincaid had 82 total yards rushing, 70 of those coming from a td run in the third

And I love this quote from spencer "Six touchdowns is very satisfying, but I’m just happy for our whole team. We want to win another conference title and pick up where we left off last year (in the 4-A state playoffs). This puts us one step closer to our goals."

    Also, from the gobiggreen site,
mcdowell had 4 first downs to acrs 23
ACR had 425 yards rushing and went 11-16 with 159 yards passing

ACR has a bye week coming up, and will be able to refocus for the game against south caldwell.

meangreen, you are so full of facts about this game . Where the heck were you the day after the reynolds-roberson game when we were trying to get a comment from you?LOL. Yes mcdowell's football program is far below that of reynolds, however I hope you hang around for a few weeks until BBall season starts. Then we'll see how things go.:60:
