If I were head coaches Mike Biggerstaff (East Burke) and Tom Harper (Alexander Central), Id be petitioning ACR coach Shane Laws for copies of tonight's game on how to shut down Terrance Kincaid. I dont know how they did it, but when you shut down someone who's been averaging over 270 yards per game, it's something to take notice.

And if you're McDowell, you somehow have to pick up the pieces and figure out how to win the next two games so that you're state playoff-eligible. If we were in the frying pan vs Watauga last week and in the fire vs ACR tonight, we're in hell next week vs East Burke.

I know there isn't much said about the 2A ranks on here but I think it was time that somebody acknowledged what Mitchell County is doing this year in football. They upset a good Polk County team last week and pulled off a last play win against Hendersonville. Mitchell has a quarterback that probably very few people know about in Joe Hoilman. The Mountaineers are only a couple wins away from clinching their first conference championship in a very long time, their last title was a share of the Western Highlands Conference Championship with Avery in 1995. The way they like to throw the ball I would not want to meet up with them in the 2A playoffs.

Mooresville struggled badly on offense but still had their chances. Penalties and a fumble inside the Statesville 10 yard line cost them precious points on two separate drives as they let this one slip away. Bad, bad loss for the Blue Devils.

game got ugly in the 2nd half. Randleman had about 9 penalties for personal fouls and unsportsmanlike in the 3rd quarter - and yet it was a Ragsdale player that ended up with an ejection

    and how about an upset

Was Watauga able to move the ball??? NO, they didn't have the ball long enough to move it. EB completely dominated the time of possession as well as plays from scrimmage. EB ran 60+ plays to Watauga's 30+. Watauga only had 13+ min time of possession. EB just pounded the ball and ran the clock with long drives. Watauga's D just simply wore down by the 4th quarter.

the mcdowell game was very ugly- the defense had a graet three and out then didnt make a play the rest of the night until a late botched snap was returned for a td. the offense didnt block anyone especually a blitzing cabral- kincaid was smothered by the defense all night. was one of the best played defensive games i have seen in a long time. kincaid was hit evry play and did break one long td run. other than that it was pathetic from a titan stand point. they were bigger, stronger and reynolds outplayed us. congrats to reynolds- great job friday night-you guys have a great team

Does anyone know the rushing and passing stats from the EB vs Watauga game? It was clear that Watauga had saw the EB vs AC game film because they tried to strip the ball all night, but they were not prepared to be drug down the field by the EB backs. EB's practice before Watauga was intence because of the AC game turnovers. EB is traveling to McDowell should be fun to watch.
