    Interesting

Talk about posting under another name! Pretty funny if I may say so.

Morgan did good this weekend in her first tournament in a Gold bracket. As did all the other kids who played in their first Gold bracket. Kalie Lang, Ally Blake, Chelsea Hartsell, Jordyn Arrowood, Kelly Braman. Along with kids from last year, Janna Lewis, Kristy Giragosian, Taylor McGee and Christina Melton.

    Thanks for asking,

    Same?

Is this tourny put on by the the same group that does a showcase/tourny early in the season? Just curious because if they are they must be doing something right cause if memory serves me right that tourny is prominant as well. Was this one ASA sanctioned?

    Yes

It is the same group and yes it is a big time tourney in the coaches eyes. We were invited two years ago to the fall tourney but our coaches did not want to go at time.

Yeah, the long pants with the cold weather will hide your long johns too. LOL I've always thought that NCAA softball/baseball was the coldest sports of all.

3B has been told by several very good coaches that she needs to stay low and it works for her. She has quick hands and has no trouble fielding her position. Several college coaches interested in her offense and defense. NC Lady Lightning/Team Combat girls you are awesome!!!!!

    uniforms

the Lightning girls have been wearing long uniforms all year, but just got the gold shirts for this tournament. They do look sharp and the majority of the girls actually liked the longer uniforms better than the shorts. I did not see many pairs of long johns, although I could have used some myself, but did see several people wearing those under armor leggings under shorts and sweats.

    Not my intention

It was not my intention to start the whos' team is better, gold or not gold debate all over again.

The purpose of my post was simply to congratulate the girls who played absolutely awesome this weekend. I like to post pictures even though I struggle with taking them because I am too involved in the game most of the time to take the shots.

I also don't understand why any team or coach should be made to feel that they are not welcome to share their experiences, struggles and successes with all in the TBR realm. I enjoy looking at all the results from the teams who play locally and I like seeing who those who travel larger distances play. Maybe showing that our local girls can have success against teams from throughout the nation more routinely than just at nationals will encourage some to expand their locations. If it does good, if it doesn't ok, but don't make any team feel that they should not share just because they are playing in a Gold Tournament, etc.
