    what do you think?

Brandon Kinnard was a really really good football player, but I think his team at the time would have served him better and his team the same for him to be at a different position, but that is just my opinion, think about it the kid would have at least went to 1AA to play safety probably, and never touch the other side of the feild......watched the kid play from knee-up, had that killer instinct it took to be great! On the offensive side I would have like to seen him at running back b/c I mean in his era they ran the option a lot and he keep it a lot so why not just stick him at running back to get the full effect..... (just my opinion) I guess another point that I am trying to make is that I would sure like to see some of these really good athletes get a chance on the D-fensive side instead of having two units year in and year out..... The only one I can remember playing both sides in the recent years is Dustin Harrington and you seen how good he was...... I feel when you have a lot of talent two units are fine, but still there is that select few that should be on both sides of the feild to complete that unit....., but when down in talent I think you have to def. put the best 11 out their every play!(if you want to win).....once again just my opinion!........Hit me back.... feel free?

i feel the same way ,you put your best players out there, when i played at watauga and i played against clark,i played everything but kickoffs and return and i loved it and i was not the only one that did it.sometimes i think we make kids soft i have seen a player make a good run then take themselfs out of the game.coach would have never let me come out if i did would not be but back in.its just what i think.

I hope everyone is having a good week, as far as JR goes, great athletic ability and from what I have seen he could play baseball and football at a D2 college. I wouldn't doubt that he could play football at a D1 level but he would have to sit for a couple years. But thekid does have alot of raw talent.

Yes, I agree totally w/ you newcoach42, the kids raw talent is scary at times...... He also had a brother that played back in the day (I am sure) that might have had a better arm then JR ...(think about that for a min.),

    Just some food for thot:

JR's stats in the past 3 yrs: Games played on Varsity by yrs: Soph. 1 / Jr. 13 / Sr. 9
    ________________________ W & L by yr: 1-0 9-4 3-6
    ________________________

    Games started:23
    Games played in: 23
Record as starter (including playoffs): 13-10
    Playoff Record: 1-1
    Attempts: 550 / INT's: 8
    Comp: 250-275
    Yards (air): over 4,000
    Yards (grd): 500 - 600
    Total (career) yrds: (Almost) 5,000
    Td's (career) (air): 38
    Td's (career) (grd): 7
    Comp % (career): 55-60%
    TD/INT RATIO (career): 4:1

Not to shabby! (the - means not sure, but #'s in b/t there) (this includes yrds on grd, Comps, and Comps %) (the rest accurate)

P.S. For anyone that is interested in stats.

Let's not forget that the kids play of the love and the coaches do it for very little pay.

    crazy

So basically, i've been reading these for a while. and keeping my mouth shut. I'm an impartial bystander that's gone to several ACHS games this year, and i can honestly not keep my mouth shut again. JR is FAR from a dime a dozen.....actually the kid is disgusting. By that, i mean SEVERAL D1 schools would drool on themselves for a shot at him. And whoever the GENIUS (sarcasm) was that said to ask Chris Leak about a QB being a "dime a dozen" , PLEASE....PLEASE explain to me how a QB thats a "dime a dozen" pretty much rewrites national recordbooks and then goes on to make Ohio State look like idiots in the National Title Game? yeah...dime a dozen? you might wanna get those glasses checked fella. JR is a pretty nasty athlete....nasty is about the only way to describe him. Yeah, he aint big, but he gives all he has every second he can. Personally, i'm trying to find kids like that to build a team around. But hey, thats just me....a guy that really likes winning seasons.

    Listen bud,
I don't claim to know a ton about ACHS athletics....but i do know one thing. A.J. Blue COULD be a great QB. But, he never will be, because his "off-field" antics will keep him from EVER being HALF of what he could be!

His size makes him "dime a dozen".....and size at QB is what colleges want.

This is true, but sad....... a lot of times a guy will have all the tangables and get overlooked just b/c of size(Getting overlooked happens everyday though), but sometimes these types of players get a shot when it is earned..... so hopefully this will happen for the kid.....

It's obvious that you cannot be a coach. No one person that is seriously involved in sport will make assumptions about an athlete's abilities or what he may be able to do and coin them as being "a dime a dozen". For example, if an athlete such as Billy Wagner would have listened to comments about his size or weight, he never would have made it where he did. I could go on for days about athlete's that were a so-called "dime a dozen" that decided they weren't settling for an excuse like that and have decided to do great things. If JR wants to go to college and be a QB, then I'm very sure there are many colleges that would go for him in a heartbeat.
